Hello guys,

I have reenacted for the last two years and I have always wanted to do airsoft. I am just struggling to get a good first weapon that would be able to get though events and that would be german and could be used throughout the war.

Thanks

ASG MP40 seems like the best bet

I'd say a Kar98k covers all your specs, airsoft wise there's a few gas option, as well as custom springer builds. Avoid shell ejecting models at all costs, they're shit. If you'd prefer an AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) the the AGM MP40 is cheap and reliable, don't have one myself but I know of many who swear by it.
Hope this helps. :D
[EDIT] Ah! Beaten to the post!

While I love my K98 and would love to promote he use of rifles wherever possible the ASG MP40 is the best Axis tarter gun hands down, they shoot well and just keep going for years for a decent price, and unlike rifles you'll never be out-gunned to the point of frustration. Really can't fault them. Whatever you go for, good to have you on board :good:

I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

To confirm the above, I purchased my mp40 last quarter of last year, since then I've used it at multiple games, its been dragged through mud/sand and even dropped in a puddle :(, but to my delight the gun (I call her Vera ;)) always fires without fail, definitely a good starter axis weapon, unless you have the money or the stamina for an mg42
