Slow progress, but got some work done on the receiver and cobbled the initial lower stock shape up :)

That's looking good Slick!
I'm just wondering if it would be worth putting a longer barrel on to the shotty? For a touch more range and accuracy etc.

I might do that, hollowed out the stock this morning to accept the receiver and made up the charging handle :)

The story so far.... hollowing out the stock was a right pain, the chaps original idea of making it in 2 halves wouldv`e made things a lot easier. :)

Very very nice mate. Have you made provisions for the cocking handle?

Yep, I cut a slot out of the stock to allow space for it to go forward and back, made up the lever, just got to attach it to the cocking rod. Worked on the top stock this morning :)

You work fast Slick, with out calling you bad names (as I don't know you) well done, she's looking good!

I'm gonna be picking up the timber for the sock this weekend.

Out of curiosity, what type of wood did you use Slick?

The stuff that comes off trees , I haven`t got a clue to be honest mate, it all looks the same to me

It would`ve been easier making the stock in 2 halves, probably wouldn`t do commisions as on close inspection it is quite rough. Being a car mechanic by trade I`m more used to working with metal. Its nice working with wood but I haven`t really got a good selection of tools....I shaped the stock using an angle grinder

very nice indeed, also the russains used all sorts of wood, so any tupe will do

hell the germans made kar 98s out of plywood at the end of the war.

anyone fancy making a custom KAR 98 (plywood) dated 1945 ??????

With regard to what wood to use I'm currently working on a genuine Mosin-Nagant stock and as far as I can tell it's pine so I would think anything that's cheap and easy to work with would be fine, I know it's a lot easier to work with than a geniune Garand stock.

Magic! Pine it is then, nice and cheap  not to mention easy to stain!

Slick, I think the angle grinder did the trick mate, it looks the dogs!

Anyone got any ideas on how a scope could be attached, as my donor shotgun hasn't got the non-period rails on it?
