Hi, I'm a newbie here and this is my first post, so greetings all.
I have had a 6mm Marushin M1 carbine for a while but never used it. It came second-hand without any instructions at all, and I therefore have a few questions for you guys.
Am I right in saying that this is a single shot weapon, much like a bolt-action rifle?
There are two fittings on the underside of the magazine, one is obviously for the gas, but the other is threaded. Is this to take some form of tank fed supply and if so why?
The magazine leaks gas. How normal is this and can re-seal kits be found?
Hope you can help!
Hi Bilko,
You are correct, the carbine is single shot i.e. you cock it for each shot. It is a very good weapon, has good range and accuracy. It maybe too powerfull to skirmish with though.
The second threaded hole in the mag is ( I think) the pressure relief valve, although I stand to be corrected.
The mag. should not leak. The seals may just need lubricating. You need to spray silicone oil into the mag via the charging valve and through the gas escape hole at the top. Do NOT use other oils as this may ruin the seals. If this does not cure it , sometimes a strip/clean/ lube works.
Seals will be available from the better airsoft retailers. Hope this is of help.

Thanks flatrajectory, I'll take that on board.
Question - is there a semi-auto version of the M1 available?
Yes, it's a development of the M2 by the same company, restricted to single-shot. Unfortunately it shares the 30round mag shape and rear sight of the M2, but it works very well. I have one. ![]()

Thanks for that, Kavster. I hope that this has not been asked elsewhere, but do the straight mags of the bolt-action M1 carbine fit the semi-auto version?
