Hello mate. M14s are perfectly reasonable for 'looks like' weapons for the US, but as far as I'm aware, you would need to use it as single shot only. Why not consider getting a CYMA Thompson?

M14 is fine on semi auto, weapon guide is here http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/pages/kit-guns.html
If you`re thinking of a Garand, Warren at ShootnScoot does a conversion for the M14 here http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1843 ![]()

Talking about M14 help! My M14 is playing silly buggers, it's stuck on full auto! Any ideas? I've come to the conclusion that bashing it against a wall isn't going to help, or bashing it against my brother for that matter so some...HELP!

Sometimes the single shot is worn away, the only way to fix that is to replace the worn parts in the gearbox.
Its a bit of over use of single shot and upgrading the gun that does it.

Spiers,

You don't have to crack the gearbox to change it.

The thing is can't have possibly worn it out, only used it once at Matlock plus a couple of test fires before hand...anyway is it going to cause a problem if I just leave it firing full auto only?

Well its against CIA rules...
Otherwise no.
The thing is can't have possibly worn it out,
it could quite easily if it's a cheapsoft. the selector mechanism is only a fairly flimsy piece of plastic and a tiny spring, it could have lost the spring, or come loose inside.
Easiest thing would be to take it apart, move the selector manually to semi auto, and and lock it there with a bit of araldite.
The only problem with glueing it in place is you won't be able to switch to full auto to free up a gear box jam which sometimes happens when firing semi.
My TM M14 kept losing semi at the DDay event and at one point I had to resort to shooting very short bursts instead. The problem with mine was I'd put a wooden stock on and the u-shaped plastic bit that connects the selector switch to the other side of the gearbox was not moving freely inside the stock.
First thing to do is take the stock off and check that the selector lever is moving back and forth OK.
By the way - I thought you were using a Thompson last time?
Right!
Yes it is against CiA rules, I know that and I prefer it on semi auto anyway! So I would like to do what dieselmonkey suggested and make the weapon semi auto only, that suits me fine!
Haven't had a gearbox jam as of yet with it so I will cross that bridge when I come to it. First things first how do I take the stock off (I apologise for being such a novice at taking apart and stripping AEG, I shoot em, I don't know how they work!) So yeh, how do I get the stock off?
And yes Barrie I was using oddballs Thompson then very briefly the M14 but it stuck on full auto and I had to use very short bursts. My brother was using my Thompson.

Try these -
For Removing the stock check out the first few pictures half way down on this guide -

It's actually pretty simple (even for me).
This one is more to do with the gearbox but I think it points out the fire selector lever which you need to look at -

EDIT - you'll need a screwdriver (or actual garand bullet) to insert into the hole in the trigger guard to lever it up. Plus the pictures don't show that once you have the trigger guard released you need to slide the metal bit off the front of the stock (just forward of the sling attachment) to free it.
THREAD HIJACK!!!
I need some help with my M14. All those with ACM M14s what magazines do you use with yours? All the ones I've tried so for don't fit so I'm interested to hear what others use before I buy some for mine.
I'm a bit confused, I'm sure they're all a standard fit...like the Thompsons? Don't think it makes a damned bit of difference does it?

I have a Kart M14 & I have the Jing Gong mags & 400 round cyma mags & they all work ok, the mags fit into the M1 carbine / small rigger pouches perfectly,

Not quite, the magazine well is the same size but the BB feed nozzle must be longer on the AGM version as I can't get any magazines except to one that came with it to lock in place. I thought I'd see what does fit before I hack it down to size.
Cheers Steve but what about mid/low caps? I was planning to use cut down ones for my SVT project.
I have six of the King Arms M14 midcaps.
They don't feed at all into the Kart M14s.
They don't feed particularly well into the TM M14 either, you'll get about 20 shots and then nothing.
THREAD REHIJACK!
I took my M14 apart and had a fiddle with the fire selector, testing it on each setting and each time it fires full auto! Bugger! Any clues, solutions?
