i know you can convert an m14 properly into an m1garand in full detail. But is it possible to use an m14 socom and then just use the sawn off mags you would use on the conversion weapon?

The M14 SOCOM is much smaller than a Garand. You need a full size one for a Garand conversion. However, if you're after a lookalike to use at WW2 games I guess it would pass with shotty mags but the rail is going to look a little odd.

If you want a longer outer barrel, I have an outer and inner barrel that I was going to put up for sale :good:

You can use the shotty mags for a smooth lower profile or if you have a lot of time/patience, shorten the M14 mags into an Enfield/G43 style.

Suppose you could make the tanker version of the M1 Garand with a socom length M14?

To go back to the original question, the socom can be used 'as is' under the counts as rule, also it can be used as a base for a full sized Garand conversion, but you would need to get the longer inner & outer barrels.

If you want to use flush fitting mags the easiest ones to convert are the AGM shotgun mags which only need minor alteration.

you can mate a socom into an M1, just need the barrel extending, i some times get asked to do them into M1, you just have to hide the barrel cut under the top "wood"
