Cyma M14 to M1 Garand AEG
Cyma wood stock as the donor, fitted usgi handguards and metal work, cut the Cyma stock down to compromise on the rear handguard length and the stock length so it locks together as a Garand should, filled in beech where the M14 butt plate and shoulder brace were, dyed the all woodwork walnut, about 10 coats
still got to do the rear sling swivel mount, make the op rod work better ( yes i know its only cosmetic ), modify ...done unscrewd the op rod end cap and inserted a ally tube very tight fit and put ascrew in between to stop op rod spring goin to the bottom ..works good, (?) the part where the M14 clips are made to be loaded, make a small metal part to fit over the last 1 inch of inner barrel showing at the front of the Garand

looks Great! is that real wood? or is it painted? as it looks really good!
Sam
stripped the Cyma varnish off the wood stock
dyed the wood stock walnut & usgi hadguards to match, few more things to do
well done, I have a wallnut front set for a garand, at some point will get a wood stock cyma and do the same. Seems a shame to just have them sitting in a drawer.

Fit and finish of the hand guards look great did they need much work? where did you get them from?
Sam
yes mate alot of work, the front is ok but the back is a pain, not totally happy with it may do that again, got them off ebay
