Mod'd M14, comments/interest appreciated (pics added ) ....

Modified M14 (in a WW2 stylee)

* The desire was to fab something to replace the M1 Carbines I sold, with an eye towards a G43/Jungle Carbine *

Base gun is an ACM plastic wood effect M14

G/box and motor seem fine, fire selector was having issues when the gun was bought; these have now been sorted although it will probably want upgrading, as is usual with these, if the rifle is used regularly.

Original inner barrel has been replaced with a Systema tight-bore G3 (470mm) length barrel (barrel was mod'd to fit) and the original outer barrel, flash hider etc have been replaced.
The effect is to shorten the rifle to below 1m (990mm-ish), making is a more useful, manageable length but retaining a decent enough length inner barrel to retain accuracy.
A simple blade front sight has been made, although as with all airsoft sights, it should be used as a 'guide', not a gospel-given plot of shot.
Underneath the new outer barrel, a short, 'fake' loading rod has been fitted.
The front top cover has been covered with a wood-grain film, which is not a match for the plastic effect but looks acceptable.

It's difficult to give an accurate idea without pics (should be within a week), although from certain angles it looks Springfield-like and from others, a late G43. Pics now added ...........

Mag-wise Warren sells the Shotty mags which will sit within the body, for a smooth underside. I believe the standard lo-caps could be shortened in a G43 style, if the buyer wants to go down that route, also I have 'normal' M14 mags so the rifle could be used for conventional 'sunday skirmishes'.
All the original parts would be supplied so the buyer could rebuild to standard spec if desired at any stage.

Any comments/ideas appreciated, as are thoughts on a possible asking price ................ ??
