Hi guys, ive been looking at various loadouts for possable WWII skirmishing and would really love to get my hands on an M1A1 Carbine the only problem is i cant find one anywhere. ive searched high and low on the net and on this forum and come up with nothing. The only things i have found are home made jobs using M1 carbines. is this my only option? not that id be giving it ago as im bound to balls it up.

There was a gas one, Mashurin? But considering how suited it is for an AEG (and widely usable) the only electric ones seem to be home builds.

That is one of the old 6mm models, and no longer produced. As you can see, not cheap. The current Marushin is 8mm, which (in my opinion) makes it less than ideal for skirmishing.

yeah ive seen that, but thats an M! Carbine. im after an M1A1 Carbine. there the ones with the folding stocks used by paratroopers.
Apologies, I'm not well up on US stuff. In that case, you're entirely correct - nobody makes one. I did have a 6mm carbine and a para stock when I first started WWII airsoft, but it was custom made.

The only real option is a custom made, the M1A1 Carbine folding stocks are expensive (from SOF) the basegun (normally a Scorpion) is expensive and then there's the metal work involved. It really depends on how much money you want to spend on it but it's not really something that can be done cheaply. Warren at Shoot & Scoot do an M1 Carbine I THINK, which you could then put in to a folding stock...but again it won't be a cheap job.

Nope I believe the project has been mothballed because he can't get enough scorpions for the gearboxes or something...
Which means there is no easy way to do it...

ahh well personally i lack any engineering skill what so ever so attempting anything would be disastrous so ill just have to resort back to my original plan and get me a nice German Uniform and a Kar98.

I have an M1A1 Carbine AEG and the battery goes in the foregrip of the stock, which is hollowed out slightly to allow for it; so yes of course it is possible. It would be no different for an S&S Carbine as they are also based on Scorpions. The problem lies not in the weapon itself but more the lack of companies who make them and the scale of the project...and cost.

There are plenty of other weapons available without choosing a completely different loadout, a good old Thompson is where people usually start, Garands are more freely available now and affordable BAR's are now on their way too, depending on how deep your pockets are there's also 30.Cal's on the market...

My Original plan was a German loadout anyway with a nice Bolt action Rifle, ive had a thing for the Kar98 for a long time. But as with anything i started looking at Various pictures on the forums and other sites and got hocked on the whole 101st Airborne thing. That and i also dug out a few of my Grandparents souvenirs from the war which include a couple of Airborne badges and some other things so it just felt like a good idea at the time. If the M1A1 is none existant as a premade gun and needs to be a homemade jobby then i will have to shelve the idea for a while and come back to it at a later date. Plus the Thompson is a no go for me as im not really that big on auto weapons.
