My advice to u is dont get a M1 Marushin garand, they look nice and fire ok but the gun has some big flaws.

If you have some airsoft skills why not try making a M14 => M1 Garand Conversion or if you dont have the required skills go buy a premade one from http://www.shootnscoot.co.uk/custom_guns_m1.php 300 quid to your door is most likely cheaper than the Marushin and as it uses a standard version 7 gearbox parts are in infinte supply if anything breaks. Unlike the unsurported Marushin version, where spares are nigh impossible to find (unless u find another "cheap" broken one)

Thats my 2 pence.

I currently own a Marushin Garand and I love it. Cosmetically I consider it a work of art and the enbloc clips are great fun to load and shoot out, as is the blowback :)

I can shoot pretty far range wise, more than I expected after reading other comments online. I mean I can get about 60 - 70m with abbey predator ultra gas and 0.34g marushin bbs but... with mines at least it's all a bit futile for skirmishing because the gun isnt very accurate :(.

It has been suggested to me that the hop rubber has hardened. I have since replaced with a brand new new one from WGC and have yet to test it. The old one is plumping up in brake fluid just now. Anyway...

All loctite does is stop the gun from breaking it doesnt enhance or add to the performance anyway. Use blue loctite because if you use the harder red stuff you'll need to take a blowtorch to the thread to open it up again!! Make sure it is thread lock and not loctite branded superglue.

So I would say if you are wanting a collectors item the Marushin is 100% the one to get. Avoid the M14 conversion route as that is exacly what they are - Garand furniture surrounding an M14 RIF and most efforts do not look very collectable IMO.

However if your after a skirmishable weapon then the opposite is true.
