can you not reposition the nozzle by changing the cylinder head?
so far for my planned sten the air seal nozzle is going to be custom made longer to reach the hop unit, the mk2's that I'm drawing up are going to look close but won't be an exact match, as long as they look "as near as dammit" then it will be good enough for me.
regards the mp40 mechs, they are about the best donors I can find, pull them apart first and re wire the motor to work with a micro switch on the trigger, the battery will be either a stick taped onto the wire frame type stock or I'll increase the od of the "t bar" stock tube so I can get a stick plus wiring in it with removable butt plate to enable charging.
mags, mp40 will do fine, they look close and I can't be bothered with buying sten mags at a fiver then putting mp40 locaps in them, just got to design the mag well and release mech! hop unit looking to re jig an m4 unit. safety will be an off switch next to the hop unit accessible within the ejection port cover.
all looks good on paper, but- will probably rethink things as I need to, a plan is just a list of things that don't happen!

Hi Tim

Are you Tim as in one who runs X site?

I think MP40 still offers best option. You could reduce the trigger housing to Mag Well gap and no one would notice. An increase of tube from 38 to 50mm would not be that noticeable either.

Have you seen the discussion here?

Have you had any reliability problems with the AGM MP40 mags?

Me neither, but Neill noticed his home-made hicaps wouldn't feed while the mags I had for it would. Apparently the nozzle is a bit idiosynchratic.

Hi Tim

looks great, can I beg a look at it at x site sometime?

Did you keep a record of what material you used for each part?

Excellent work! It's great that you have managed to get a full-sized gearbox in there.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I was about to ask!

I have a Mk III project in mind - and less ambitious than yours : plastic...
Q : where can I find the gearbox you used?
I also considered the Marushin Uzi gearbox, all "on line" and rather small sized. The feeding is also pratical, through a flexible tube. And the magazines are interesting. What do you think?
