ahhh, fortunately the mosin's front sight is on a reasonably high post, so could wangle it. Doesnt matter if it's not 100% accurate for the time being, I'll develop it after the loop game. I managed to mill out the hole for the mag, and it fits in a feeds well, theres enough friction to keep the mag in place whilst in use without velcro etc.

Strange, I had no problems at all with my Mosin build. The metal part on the top handguard matched up really well to the VSR receiver and looked seamless. I ground a small channel in the handguard as well, to allow the hop adjuster to move smoothly.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Yeah, I cut the top part of the bar off so that it would fit in, and cut a channel out of the bottom section.

I had to cut down the barrel clearing rod as it passed right underneath where the magazine needed to be.

Made the magazine housing and the trigger guard thanks to some measurements from lardy.

Trigger guard is a little square at the mo, but I only have metal files atm, they dont work too well on wood :giggle:

a little off topic here but it is SO frustrating that there is no airsoft springer version of this rifle out, and to custom make one is i'm sure quite a bit of money not to mention all the time and effort, while i know where to buy a real steel mosin nagant for literally $79 :?

you mean the KTW one? yea it is crazy expensive and i've heard not at all skirmishable. i think the chinese companies are gonna get an awakening when they see how fast the ppsh-41's and that clone BAR sell though. so here's to hope :)

my mosin is now done.

I replaced the wooden magazine I made with a real steel one, the removable floor plate has made it very convinient to be able to bolt the magazine housing to the receiver so that it tightly fixes both to the stock. Cable tie is to hold it on whilst the magazine housing is glueing :)

340fps with .2s so I dont have to worry about getting *too* close to folk. Going to do the same in the no.4 for Freshman too :)

JG BAR10 I believe. The Stock needs a lot of wood taking out of it for it to fit. :) :good:

I am going to resurrect this post from page three, or where ever the hell I found it just to say that I had a chance to bimble round with this gun at the open day last Sunday, and I thought it was truly magnificent. Beautiful and very accurate.

A top job there Webby mate. :good:
