I have been looking for a cheap plastic M3 so that I could make one in steel as an AEG.
Maybe a gearbox from an AGM Sten gun is an answer, I presume yours is gas am I right?
There is also the AGM MP40 box that may fit and they are for sale on a US site.

As I could not find a cheap plastic M3 I have started making a BAR instead with a M14 box.

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

That is the thread I was looking for. Everytime I Searched on WW2airsoft it said that the link was no longer available. Don't know how you found it, but thanks! $300 to convert it, huh? Sounds kinda pricey. May be a bit too cost prohibitive. Thanks any way. :good:

that estimate was based on using a £200+ Tokyo Marui MP7. you can now get Well R4 or Galaxy MP7 clones for around £50 so it would be a lot cheaper in terms of parts. Still a lot of work though.

there is a very hight probability that WE are making an AEG M3. the pic came out with one of their GBB M14. That now available so finger crossed the M3 should not be too far behind. :happyclap:

If it's coming from WE, isn't it much more likely to be yet another GBB rather that an AEG??

I'm sure I saw an M3 conversion which used an MP40 gearbox somewhere. Buggered if I can find a link though! :slap:
