Unless you use the rear half of the VSR clone mated to the front wood set, you're going to have to fabricate the metal joining piece between the stock and the rest of the gun out of something.
My SMLE was made using a denix replica, so it was already there, saving me some work (though it was a b*tch to get the mech in and keep it solid!)
I suppose it would be possible to completely fabricate something to go between the wood sections, as long as it was vaguely the right shape most people would be none the wiser, plus if it were solid brass, or steel, you'd have something solid to mount everything else on. Assuming you have access to a decent machine shop, i guess.
richard, please keep a detailed log of this project with plenty of pics. i intend to do one myself once a bit more work comes in.
Sgt.Heide has already done one of these which he recently sold viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5888&p=96184&hilit=custom#p96184 I got a feeling someone else on the forum was doing one as well

I thought the price of these parts was verty good what do you guys think?
That's about the same sort of prices i was looking at, when i was planning one. You might get the occasional part cheaper on ebay or at a show, but to get it all in one go is nice and convenient.
They look like pretty good prices to me. Do they have a website?
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
i cant really see from the pics, but it looks to me like the two halves could be dowelled and glue together.
Hi, the receiver has a socket for the stock to go into so it might be best to use sheet metal to create this?
I have been looking into putting a JG Bar 10 into a Lee Enfield stock and I think the easiest way is to create a single piece stock out of wood, like the plastic one, but longer. The top wood then needs to be held on with either the real bands or some manufactured equivalent (metal hose clips come to mind).
For me, there is a world of difference between a realistic LE No4 and a working airsoft one that looks, from a distance about right. The latter seems much more pragmatic in my mind and more suited to ww2 airsoft.

"We want to get the hell over there. The quicker we clean up this Goddamned mess, the quicker we can take a little jaunt against the purple pissing Japs and clean out their nest, too. Before the Goddamned Marines get all of the credit."
Anyone tried the phone number - it appears not to work....... any ideas where else can i get these parts from

I'm going to have to do this soon myself... those drawings would be greatly appreciated!
Looking good, I did a similar thing with mine, only i didnt have all the proper parts from that place.
Another few questions....
How did you get the airsoft mag to stay in? Sgt Heide used velcro on his, but I don't see any of that on yours.
I notice you've left some of the old outer barrel on, how far up inside does that go?
Does anyone know a source for something to use as a new outer barrel? I'm doing an SMLE, so won't need as much, but I assume that it's some sort of aluminium tube?
Is there any chance of a pic of the top of the stock/receiver join?

B&Q do 16mm OD steel tubing. Thats what I used on my last K98 conversion and it was the perfect size. Being steel means you can Blue it too!
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

Cool... I'll take a look!
Any idea which aisle its on?

They have a section that's got all the steel, brass and ally tube in racks, along with decorative grill sheet. Should be near the hardware and fixings section, It's great!
excellent!
I'd have thought you'd not need any for a SMLE.
You don't need much, but the barrel is visible at the end just inside the nose cap.
Can anybody tell me what type of wood was the original stock made from. For my attempt we were thinking of either Beech or Ash.
They vary. I'd not be surprised if some Canadian ones were maple!

Hmm. I have a lathe and some mild steel - I'd make one, as well as packing for the rest of the barrel.
