A friend of mine has access & know-how to use machining equipment and would be willing to fabricate a No4 receiver, bolt knob and the part at the end of the bolt. I would now need some measurements and/or blueprints for this. Using a S&S No4 as a base for this, not looking to lengthen the receiver to correct measurements.
Help would be greatly appreciated

I could probably digram up some photographs for you, wouldn't be exact but pretty darn close. Drop me a PM if interested?

If you have a S+S no4 as a base gun and your not correcting the measurements then just copy the S+S parts ,bit of a shame not to correct it though and if you had the blueprints to the real no4 then it would all be wrong if fitted to a S+S gun unmodified .....

Dadio, how much work was/is it to lengthen the receiver? How much are they off? Going to search the forums for a bit for this as well.

Best way to judge it is in where the cocking handle is ,the handle is over the woodwork on the budget S+S and it should be over the jointing band between the wood parts ,its roughly an inch.

Aren't they identical in shape to the Enfield anyway?

Yeah, I didn't use the warrens receiver at all for the model. Ended up measuring and putting together a model from pictures of the real one. The rest of the gun will remain as a "stock" S&S No4 though. So it will be a slightly modded S&S . Will probably do some modifications to the Varmint receiver as well. We'll see how it goes, my friend already made the bit at the end of the bolt (the squarish one). He's not sure if the bolt lengthening is possible without a lot off stress on the rod the end cap screws into in the bolt. The other way would be looking at how to lengthen the rod itself. I'm also looking into finding a Marui cylinder for it, apparently the rod in those is a bit longer than the Varmint one.
I assume the metal parts were blued on the real one? Dadio was recommending Birchwood's blueing on another topic, will see where I can source some.
