Right after a bit of though a few months back and sparked off by a wotan thread how do players feel about non aegs weapons other than grenades.
My two i need to ask you about are foam or soft rubber close combat wepons and flamethrowers.
So the poll is really about the idea of flamethrowers and how you feel about one player per side in a CQB or urban game being armed with a *large* supersoaker and two big tanks of water...
Do you think its silly, do you like the idea, woudl you be annoyed if you got hit with it, do you think it might damage your aeg or kit?
My second question is regarding 'knife kills' and whether or not you woudl be happy to be tapped with a foam knife/bayonet or entrenching tool in a game and take it as a 'kill'
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Well we do knife kills at F&O and they can be fun. Chris once got five knife kills in one game, and he was wearing a red guards tunic.
Rubber knifes and e-tools sound ok to me.
First and Only Airsoft!!
Why not use 40mm shells as flame throwers, short range and bit off a spread just like the real thing.
First and Only Airsoft!!
It'll really #*!* up everyone else's AEGs.
Just imagine it, some Germans in an enforced trench/bunker with their expensive airsoft MG42 proudly blareing away. A US chap with one of these 'water' flamethrowers assaults the bunker. Bye-bye gun, bye-bye fun, bye-bye insurance no-claims bonus.

sounds good, as long as the weapons look the part, no big blue super soakers or crappy oversized LARP knives!
i've got a commando dagger on the way to make a cast from, if the idea gets approval.
totally happy for knife type kills. really fancy trying it out.
however electric guns and a super soaker sounds a daft idea. not to mention the times of year when its going to be cold etc wouldnt want to be hit with a large blast of water really. I like the idea of a flame throwers for cqb but water isnt the way to go
What about a flour or powder - thrower. a powder fire extinguisher, modded, could do it.
I really dont know , would flour or powder not really really mes up a gear box?
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
i think its a good idea i like the idea of knife kills but we would have to watch that the physical contact doesn't get out of hand.
as for the supersoaker, i dont think it will do too much harm - we all play in pouring rain and our guns still work - perhaps something like a weed sprayer where the spray is a little finer. If ther was a designated flamethrower in a team.... powder is not great idea.

what about a co2 style one? flour would be a problem perhaps if it got into the gearbox grease. how safe is the powder from the extinguisher to inhale?
What about a flour or powder - thrower. a powder fire extinguisher, modded, could do it.
you get Co2 fire extinguishers which spray a white mist. it's cold as fook but only lasts a second. no damage, no danger, no mess, quick kills?
CO2 being laid down in an underground tunnel might not be the best idea!
Spending the rest of the day soaked just because you were killed once would be a bit annoying and spending the rest of the day with your nice feldgrau all white from flour would be rubbish too. Even worse: being covered in flour then getting wet!
knife kills are good fun though
Hey on days like the last game CR a real flame-thrower would not have gone a miss!
Free speech is expensive these days!
It all depends if I had my hair done the day before, I think a blast of water might take my perm out
Seriously I think its a cracking idea, anything that brings an extra dimension into WW2 airsoft is good, but I`ve seen some people get pissy about having to step in a stream and get their boots wet whilst playing, same goes for any type of contact, there are those who wouldn`t appreciate a cuff round the ear with a foam entrenching tool.
I think you would have to try it out at a specific game and let people know when booking that its part and parcel....if its not their cup of tea they don`t have to book
we allso use the knife rule, its grate fun, but for the players that dount carry a rubber one we have a jentle finger in the side, makes people jump a foot in the air,
as for the supper sockers, they are grate,
i think major and i used them about 10 years back,
and dount wory to much about guns getting wet, they work fine, but i,d recomend not useing them under water
just think wales
team shoot and scoot, TL
haveing been blasted with co2 and halon (now illegal) ill tell you this
It would work
but,
i took halon in the eye at 8 inches once, arseing about in a landrover in northern ireland, and was blind for an hour, (still did my top cover in the landrover though)
i shot a co2 extinguisher in to my nomex tank suit to cool down when on an m1a1 abrahms tank, it worked great , untill we hit a bump, the nozzle touched my knob, and when it fired, i had a cold burn on me todge , that was agony, it scabbed over after a few days, and i had a scabby todge for a week.
SO CO2 will work fine, BUT IT MUST HAVE MINIMUM ENGAGEMENT OF 1 METRE. (AND NO KNOB SHOTS)
the eye problem is fine as we wear glasses anyway
and 1 CO2 Extinguisher per side, wont affect the "AIR" in the tunnal enought to affect breathing
IT WILL WORK, NO ONE GETS WET, GREAT IDEA

How about one of these?
Fires a special stream of electrically charged fluid
Handheld and battery operated
Experimental non-lethal technology
Can stun from 10 feet away
Easy to refill
Operates on compressed air

Yes I have the plans for the ion ray gun about some place.

flamethrower = ghey.
knife kill = not ghey.
