you must be one in a million lol. still tempted to get one though as the kick of a gbb is something to enjoy
I had my gas seepage with a Maruzen M11 I used to have...
Two part gas mags... a very bad design.... if you accidentally leant on them they leaked in the middle... of course M11 mags are long and thin so it happened all the time.
I think on the later WE the gas valves have been re designed but not 100% sure, I normaly Gas them up & then even if they have not been used by lunch time top them up again, which reminds me I wil have to get more gas

Apologies for the slight thread hijack, but I'm considering the WE 1911 from RSOV and was wondering how many mags I'm likely to get from a 1000ml bottle of 134a gas?
Cheers
Quite a few, they hold less than a normal mag I think, shop around for the gas, I use a lot of gas as I use it in m203 grenades as well, you should pay under

Hopefully I will be able to keep the Germans out of pistol range with my bolt action

Yup, just heard from Rhys that the Springfield should be ready and with A Gregory's Thompson coming when I've paid for it I probably won't need a pistol as well. But then you can never have too many guns...
See what happens, I may buy a M14 too, I could deploy it on a bi pod as a support weapon

Don't use 134a in a WE 1911... it'll not work. The slide is just too heavy for the gas to make it cycle.
You need to use green gas, propane or abbey ultra.
I just got one of these through the post. I like it. I use red (Ultra) on my grease gun, Garand and I was going to use it on this anyway, but thanks for making it clear before I asked! How does everyone find these guns?
Heh... Abbey Ultra isn't "Red Gas"... I know the can is red, but its just not the same stuff.
True "Red Gas" is a lot more powerful than "Green Gas/Propane" and would blow pretty much all non-upgraded guns apart.
I've never actually seen a can of "Red Gas" in this country.
Apologies, I'm a noob when it comes to airsofting as a whole. I did mean Ultra.
Heh. no probs! I just didn't want people going out and putting "Red Gas" through their guns and seeing them blow apart! lol
BTW, so people know: Gas scale of power from lowest to highest.
- HFC134a (often sold in a white can with green writing or as Abbey Predator 134a)
- Abbey Predator Ultra (red can, with some black on it)
- Green Gas/HFC22 (sold in white cans with green writing)
- Propane (sold in B&Q (etc). A tall thin blue can with black writing usually used for blow torches, but with the Airsoft Innovations adapter can be used to fill airsoft mags)
- Red Gas (no idea what this looks like)
Note that HFC134a is a LOT less powerful than Abbey Ultra, which is a lot closer to Green in power (it may even be the same). Propane is quite probably exactly the same power as Green but for some reason people seem to think its more powerful, which seems unlikely to me.
I have only read about "Red Gas", not experienced its use, so I shall not comment on how powerful it is, suffice to say its more than Green/Propane.
thanks yith thats very helpful! I didnt know much about the differences. good to know. What do you typically use in yours? green?
I put 134a through my Garand at the weekend and the blowback was rubbish, so I don't fancy it at all. Ultra is nice and crisp in all my GBBs, so far, but I don't fancy using Green, as I've heard it can mangle some guns.
I use ultra or propane in most of my guns and get about the same performance with either. Propane is a lot cheaper...
thats with: KWC Colt Python, Marushin M10, KSC/KWC M9, WE 1911, KSC 1911.
I use HFC134a in my Tanaka Browning.
how much does propane set you back compared to green? and can they use propane straight off the bat or does it require some valve mod or something?
thanks again Yith
The main advantage of Propane is that there's a stockist in virtually every city... So I rarely go short.
You can't say that about other airsoft gases.
