It has been done - but requires a lot of butchery apparently :(

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

I would strongly advise against it, the guy on the US forum who sells an M14 to Garand conversion, (2nd Bat), has managed it but destroyed 3 stocks before he got it right, plus I've had a go at it and gave up as there is only barely enough room for the motor in the wrist of the stock, one slip and you go right through the wood :( , even if you suceed the stock will end up very weak at that point.

Im gonna attempt it to a degree, but its going to require alot of planning.

I think the simplest, but most major way of doing it would be - split it down the middle, dremmel the stock to fit the gearbox etc, then glue back together - might need an additional insert strip of wood, which would widen the stock slightly.

However it would mean that you didn't have to go close to the outer surface of the stock, and therefore not weaken it as much.

If the initial slice up was cleanly done, you would probably not notice the join when glued back together?

Please note - the above method is a copy of what's mentioned on the US WW2 Airsoft site, I take no responsibility for any actions taken lol.

Well im gonna go for a 8.4V 3300mAh which is what i already use in my S&S M1

So all im doing so to speak is Droping the internals of that into the stock. As i want a more realistic looking garand.

if you going to do it be very carefull, the real m1 stock is smaller plus under the stock where the mag goes is smaller, when you have done cutting out for the gearbox etc the stock is very thin, its at your own risk -- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

Like i say its gonna take time...and alot of planning. its a project after all they aren't meant to be easy. Im gonna look at splitting the stock like JD said it only needs slight widening. But then if you widen the stock will the front end look good.

it'll take me the best part of a year of 6 months.
