Although Oldsweat made a few alterations to it, it looks exactly like they do when warren sends them out.

The alterations that are on that thread warren now does for an extra

Essentially, yes, it also gives you the facility to use a mini battery rather than the AK stick battery.

I think it may also take a large type 7.2 Volt battery, Ideal if you have a thompson.

The Mk II Sten The standard sten used through out the British and commonwealth forces.
http://www.relics.org.uk/p0136.htm Mk II with Skeleton Stock
http://www.relics.org.uk/p0127.htm MKII with t piece Stock

A Mk II(S) Sten Note the Silencer used mainly by Commando and Resistance type units. Some times with a pistol type rear grip.
http://www.relics.org.uk/p0133.htm
http://www.relics.org.uk/p0197.htm Pistol grip fitted(It just replaced the stock wich skide off)

A MKV Sten used mainly by the airborne units, and later on by most units in the british army. By the Suez crisis this was the only sten in general service.
http://www.relics.org.uk/p0206.htm

A MKV(S) Sten Also with a silencer. I dont actually know of any use of this one but hear you are. Also Called a Mk VI
http://www.relics.org.uk/p0249.htm

Apologys for using relics but its the only place with all 5 types on the same page. Detail is'nt too great but it should be enough to give you the general idea.

Depends. On D Day the two smocks wear vastly different but by november '44 the Dennison was in use with the commando's.

What sort of period wear you thinking of?

There is an acount of a group of para's landing on one of the invasion beaches and linking up with the rest of 9 para at the merville battery. They were led by 9Btn.'s AO, as he couldnt jump because he had a broken arm from a training drop.

They were in Jepps and they just drove like lunatics to re-enforce the rest of the battalion.

So if you wanted to push it a bit you could do both D-Day Para and Commando with Para gear.

He is an exeptianal charicter, he was the chairman of a the local sweet firm Trebbor for quite a while and was still quite a big fish in the local princes trust up till a few years ago. He must have been in his Eightys by then.

I'm sorry to say I'v lost touch with him since I'v been working as a security guard for the last few years.

Maj. Bill Mills if anybody wants to search the web for him.
