I've already ordered the parts in anticiaption of having to downgrade mine and cranked up my selection of tools ready to iron out any little niggles. I also hope to give the Sten a run at Die Glocke, fingers crossed we get them in time. :good:

Apart from a 1J spring, which is obvious enough even for me, what other parts do you need to downgrade it?

Also, can anyone recommend somewhere to get these lipo batteries and chargers?

For my anticipated downgrade, I've got a 1J spring, metal bushings and a bearing spring guide and some decent gearbox grease, because I believe if you're going to open a gearbox, it's better to do it once and go a bit o.t.t, than to open it several times and keep tinkering.

These seem like decent prices for a suitable battery, 6th one down will be my choice, once I can confirm the dimensions on the Sten. http://www.component-shop.co.uk/html/bo ... packs.html

Most decent R/C retailers sell a range of balance chargers/charging bags/charge alarms, etc.

Cheers, have all those bits except the new spring guide which I will do without.

I might go with a couple of the smaller 7.4v ones as I don't suppose there'll be much room to spare.

Last question, is it a deans connector, I couldn't make it out in the video?

And, final question, do these Lipos come with reversed wiring (all airsoft batteries/guns are wired up opposite to rc stuff)?

From the original Viva video on youtube, it looks like deans connectors. I doubt if the connections will be reversed, that seems to be an airsoft quirk with the "Tamiya" type connectors, whereas "deans" connections have been a standard thing on both RC models and the airsoft guns I've seen using them.

Mind you, I'm still going to wait until my Sten arrives befrore ordering any more batteries, just to be sure!

Thanks again Pete. I'm going to have to take a punt on batteries because we want to use it at Die Glocke.

Have just ordered a Guarder M85 spring from Firesupport, which I hope will be below 1J, it was the weakest one they had, or at least the one with the lowest meaningless designation number!

can anyone recommend a charger for Li-Po batteries? I've never used Li-Po's for airsoft.

You'll need a new charger, plus a balancer as well (LiPo cells must be charged at the same time, to the same level). Pick up a "LiPo sack" (lil fireproof bag) at the same time - oh, and keep a good eye on them whilst they are on charge.

Thanks Kermit - I had read about the balancer and the perils of LiPo hmmm I'll do some more reading of R/C forums and see what's what - sure as feck don't want charging problems
