(Slightly off main topic for a moment) Fortunately, they seem to vent straight down the barrel. Mine seem to be getting better now that the weather is improving, but it is depressing to vent a whole CO2 bulb on the first shot.

FWIW, the manual does state that the gun must be lubricated before use. This helps to make a better seal between the nozzle and the barrel. Unlike most airsoft guns, the nozzle in these only butts up to the barrel/hop. It does not push inside (normally creating a seal in the process). This may be the reason why cool down is such an issue.

Recently traded my Magpul Masada for a Tanaka Kar98k G Version. Unfortunately it did not include a manual. I have read that the fps can be altered on the G version but I have no idea how? Wondered if anyone had a scan of the manual or could point me to anywhere that would give me a better understanding of the 98k. I have tried google but nothing useful really comes up.

It seems to fire well with its original mag and the pps versions, just a tad hot.

Also came with a new hop adaptor so as to use a VSR barrel, is this worth fitting as it seems pretty good as it is?

I was not going to keep it, but after just testing it I do not think I can part with it as its a thing of beauty.
All help appreciated

If it's the same as the PPS clone, remove the bolt and there's a small rub screw near the nozzle end. Loosen this then slide a small flat head down the nozzle. It should slot into a 'screw' inside the bolt which, when turned, regulates FPS from 270ish to over 500.

Do not think it has that screw mate on the Tanaka.

Does anyone have any photo's of the FPS restrictors for the Tanaka G version? as I maybe able to get some made if I knew what the looked like.

Am I right in thinking they screw into the end of the air nozzle where it is internally threaded?

Help appreciated as really want to skirmish with my 98 but its a tad hot for my local sites.
