Hi folks
Does anyone know if the trigger guard from the old M98 Mauser rifle fits the stock of the 98K? The reason that I ask is that the M98 versions seem to be more readily available on ebay and Im in the middle of a mpoo1 conversion.

The other thing is, what is the purpose of the hollow metal stud in the middle of the mauser stock? Just curious!

I was told that stud was to allow the rifles to be locked in a rack by passing a rod through all the stocks - I'd love a second opinion on that!

That would make sense. I was wondering if it might accept a swivel for an alternative sling arrangement.

Yes, the hole is big enough, but personally, I wouldnt put a sling on it. It'll get in the way.

The "hole" is to take the bolt down....... You depress the bolt into it and unscrew it to replace say, a broken firing pin........ But you could pass a rod thought to lock them in a gunrack......
