There isn't a 'two tone' K98 and even if there were it wouldn't help you. Nowt to do with UKARA but everything to do with the law which now says collectors can't be sold RIFs. If you were sold an IF (an orange sprayed K98 for example) then you wouldn't be allowed to legally remove said paint as this might be construed as manufacturing.
In any case, pointless exercise, just get yourself a de-act K98 for your display - no problem there!
Ryton Arms have them http://www.rytonarms.co.uk/site/home.php starting at £190
If you can, get yourself down to the War and Peace show next week. more K98's than you can shake a stick at! plus you can pick and chose and find a nice condition one. with mail-order like Ryton arms, its pot luck if you get a nice one or a right dog!
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942
"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942
JD Airsoft will two tone any gun if you're not UKARA registered. This should include the plast stocked k98's they had in stock last week. Their website still isn't ready (used to be 6mil) but the phone number is 01543 466356. Very nice people & recommended.
:good: Ok buddy, cheers I will check out this avenue too.
Just to re-emphasise CW's point above, if you do get a 2-tone, it's still illegal for you to replace the stock with a wood one, or strip the paint off it to turn it into a RIF. Best bet is to go the deac or UKARA route and forget about the 2tone models.
Much law is mad/bad, but better to stick to the law than be fined/imprisoned. Or worse, use this very public forum to discus law breaking/evasion....
Anyhoo, it's perfectly legal to get an ex-real weapon than a plastic/monkey metal and at half the price. No brainer for a display.
You may find a de-ac is cheaper anyway.
bloody worlds cheaper, a nice de-ac no4 enfield runs out between 175 -250 quid. one of warrens airsoft springers is over 500 now..........
Yes a de-activated one is defo on the cards
btw - If I want to start skirmishing, do they lend you a gun on the day?
Yes - most sites will charge about a tenner to borrow a gun for the day. It's usually an M4 or AK, mind!
these are not WWII themed, so they could be more like paitball - depends on the site (so I hear)
Keep an eye though, more and more ww2 games down south, especialy with zero bravo at worthing.
Pretty close to you I think?
if its two tone you want, look no further..... ( see how fast we go of topic for a laugh? )

if you can afford the ticket, head out to california, go to big 5 sporting goods, and buy a REAL NON deactivated k98 for $250, only problem is, you can't take it back to the UK...
Don't know of any airsoft sites that let you bring real guns onto the field. Even in California.
