Has anyone got any first hand experience with the WE P38?
Does it have the same inverted hop system (or "hop down") as the P08 and Hi Power?

I’ve got one of these somewhere, I’ll take a look. Great looking pistol......very disappointed with using it!

The hop is adjusted via an “Allen” screw or hex screw as they’re known nowadays, just above the hop unit itself, looks to me about a 1 mm key will do it, I can’t remember ever adjusting this on this pistol but I may have done.
It can be adjusted by opening the breech. I’ve not attempted to remove hop rubber or barrel before, so exactly how this screw adjusts the hop, I can only guess.-- attachment is not available --

The hex screw at 12 o'clock in your picture? It may have a semi normal/functional hop after all.

What was disappointing about using it?

Thanks

Yes that hex screw at12 0’clock.
I was really looking forward to getting this pistol, (P38 was the first real steel auto I ever fired!) hoping it would a least be on par with other Airsoft gas pistols, feels great, looks great, action works great, magazine gas capacity is probably the worst let down, didn’t even last to get to the last few pellets. Accuracy is not good, distance not good. I was always going to do some upgrade work on it but never got around to it.
This was the “ blued” version (paid more money for it!) looked more like metallic purple! The finish started to flake off within 6 months, looked awful, ( now sprayed dark metallic grey).
A stock WE 1911 beats it hands down, and they’re not great! If you want one to just sit on your hip, they’re OK, want to actually use it? For me disappointing.
