hey lads. i could do with some help. ive been doing airsoft for about a year and a bit, and ive always been interested in getting a WW2 loadout. im fasinated with american, british and german loadouts, but ive chosen to do the german as its the most that interests me.

i was looking around on the forum and found some links. and i have no idea how to get started. i think i might buy an aeg and start from there.

i was looking at an AGM MP007 MP40 Full Metal on http://www.airsoft-paradize.com/, and wondered if anyone could give me some feedback on it. :)

sorry to be a pain, but i could do with some help on the uniform aswell. :P

any help would be much appreciated.

Apollo

Welcome, old chap! I've just got one of those MP40s, as have a few people here. I can't really comment on it yet, since I've only had opportunity to fire it in the dark! However, at a third of the price (or less) of the TOP one, many are already finding it more reliable!

As regards uniform, check out ebay store Spearhead Militaria - great value and great quality. They have so much choice, it's unbelievable! Make a choice of what type of unit you want to portray - Army, Waffen-SS, Fallschirm (paras), Panzer Grenadier.... That will help narrow down the uniform. For accessories, talk to Warren (on this forum), who owns Shootnscoot. Also, Soldier of Fortune are good for insignia and accessories.

You can spend a lot of money, but I would suggest getting the basic uniform from Spearhead first and building it up bit by bit. Have a look at some of the pictures on the forum here, to see what kit we've got. I've just completed my Heer (army) loadout. :)

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier

Welcome to the dark side Apollo.

Our last game in December saw probably the highest density of Thompsons ever seen in a UK airsoft game - I have a feeling that the April game will see the highest density of MP40's ever seen in a UK airsoft game!!! I will have one by then myself

As for uniforms! I was at a complete loss when I started to look at German kit seriously. US and Brit loadouts are much easier as their uniforms were.. well, uniform! To put it simply there were early or late versions of both and all you need to do is add some badges. The variety of German kit is astonishing! If you aren't bothered about accuracy and just want a German looking kit then go ahead and pick whatever you like the look of. However, we all know what airsofters are like about gear - they like to get it right (within the bounds of affordability and skirmishability)!!! Take your time, read the books, check out the web sites, watch the films.

You cant go far wrong with investing in a set of M36's and jackboots, topped of by webbing, badges and headgear of your choice.

See here for ideas :-
