I think they're Mk5. Mk3 is plenty big enough indoors.

TLSFX's Mk5s tend to be a bit more pokey than the others I've bought anyway!

I wont lie, they're like the pyro version of a wet fart, but anything else will damage someone's ear drums. The hard surfaces don't absorb any sound so a mk5 goes off like a 9-15 and if you've been next to them you will know what I'm on about ..

bfg - firing percution only (buy a regular 9 - .38 blank the ones with paper / plastic on end not the crimped type , then when you get home remove the powder by removing the cap . then dispose of the powder propely . )

In all my time using BFGs (a few years now) I've never found any 9mm/.38 blanks like that. Mine have always been crimped.

And I can get these where? Most of the time my local gunshop even struggles to get the normal ones in!

In any case, I'm not sure it would be worth using a BFG just firing the percussion cap! Regular 9mm blanks are a phutt outside and a only a usable bang inside (at UCAP).

If so, then why is this being discussed?

Perhaps so that people don't waste time and money bringing unusable BFGs with crimped blanks?

But Dave just implied that using a BFG with this suggested mod was a problem?

I think I'm getting mixed messages from the organisers here...??

Get out the wrong side of the bed this morning Rich?

Jamie's rule is percussion caps only in BFGs, if you want to use them. Your choice.

I don't think it would be worth the effort and therefore I won't be bringing BFGs. My choice.

No you're not.

The only BFGs that are allowed are percussion cap only blanks with the powder removed.

Dave's point is that this is academic anyway, as they're a bit limp wristed. Therefore a better option would probably be TLSFX's Mk3s.

EDIT - Dave beat me to it.

Hmmm... that's a shame... 9mm really have never been a problem anywhere I've used them... 12 gauge and 9mm long, yes... 9mm short... no.

I suppose at least there will be some pyro available, as I am a firm believer that a CQB game without pyro is too dangerous for me and I'd not be attending.

However rules is rules... I'm just very surprised that F&O have felt this necessary.

A weird rule for sure - a new one on me!

Did you mean to say that?!

Yes... without pyro to clear rooms you sometimes have to charge into massive amounts of fire. This is FAR more dangerous than a 9mm bfg or other pyrotechnic being thrown in.

Take it from me I have done this many, many times and a single BFG used sensibly can save everyone a hell of a lot of pain.
