Relax Dom , we'v met and i'm sure you have the right game attitude but i have yet to have anybody criticize me on non exact kit , it really is nice to see everyone in matching kit but not to the extent that a game fail's to get enough player's because you have the wrong belt buckle for that day , CW is flexible on kit exactitude ,he's just explaining that a sniper role wont fit the style of game he has planned .

Cheers Gav, I am just feeling a little frustrated here as I think people have got the wrong end of my stick (sounds a bit questionable when put like that...!). The vibe I'm getting is that it if isn't 'right' it isn't welcome, which is fine but it isn't my bag!

I should really stop being on the internet when I have been travelling all day, makes me grouchy :)

Au contarire gents I have been to two events so far and loved both utterly! I have never played German however so do not have the kit, if people have kit to offer may I kindly suggest they post this in the kit borrowing/lending thread? If people know there are uniforms to fit them they are more likely to sign up to play German and make this actually happen.

However if this is an event where stitch-counting will be an issue I'll probably not come. There is nothing quite as good at ruining the mood as someone tapping you on the shoulder and telling you your buckle on your webbing wasn't issued until six months later. And once one has forked out £100-odd in order to make it to said game it would be doubly irritating.

We'll then you're an old sweat, and will know that nobody is going to do that.
:good:

Asking us about kit is one thing, and we're really rather flexible on that, so no problems there. Asking us to include a specific role is another thing. You can be a regular rifleman, you may get the opportunity to shoot some people from a concealed position if you're skilled enough, but as German commander I won't be giving any orders for people to sit in wait in order to take a single shot at a specific target. There will be lots of other interesting things going on though, some of which will require the skill set of someone who is able to remain concealed and undetected in order to gather intelligence and get it back to HQ quickly and without detection.

I think there is is some horrible misunderstanding here, a camo smock/zelt plus trousers etc is just a standard 1944 German uniform, as is field grey all over, helmets sprayed rainbow yellow/brown/green, manky late war brown wool uniforms, reissued Steingrau or whatever. It is just German kit.

Sadly I can't come to this as I am still on holiday in August, as I was for Hut 9, but would of course have made up the German numbers, even though I have a ton of British commando gear :)

Cheers

I agree, there has been. I am NOT asking to be some kind of lone-ranger snipetard. I like working as part of a larger team and would enjoy being a regular rifleman. I merely was looking to make a suggestion to beef up German numbers with the very limited Jerry kit I have.

Now back to business - WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE GERMANS!!!! No germans, no game and that would be a real pity.

3 weeks to go guys, still time to book as a German. Having walked the site again today, I can tell you that you will NOT be disappointed with this place, it's awesome!

It's also a chance for those seeking an "immersive" event to shit or get off the pan as well! :giggle:

Thankyou, Martin, for your support, it's just a shame that some others can't get behind this. We looked at what people wanted from an event and, we have catered for it but, where are they? They've been given...

Objective based gaming.
Structured squads and command.
A new site.
A pace that will not not kill anyone.
Liberal kit and weapon requirements.
A one day event for those who can't do weekends, or need to travel a long way.
Camping options for one or two nights.

Need I go on?

I just don't understand the poor German turnout for this, all I can think of is that it is holiday season for many...no other reason as to why there aren't 15 booked on :?

I would definitely have booked on but I am on holidays in Holland.
Funny enough not far form an Atlantic wall artillery bunker village - Groede - covering the water way to Antwerps. Played part in the Breskens pocket battle. Bunkers all still there and some open to public.
Gives me a good idea what the game is all about but will have to miss it. I am sure it is going to be awesome.-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

If you do, buy Razorlight's place off him rather than booking direct. Ta.
