I would seriously like to cap this game at 45 players per side (50 absolute max) until we gain more experience.
Its not like were doing it for the money and i would hate to see this one fal l flat becasue we bit off more than we can chew.
If we had 60 at BotB that was a lot of players to shepheard, brief, feed and sign in.
We're going to have as third many again this time.
I suggest seperate allied and german sign in points and pay points on the day. This wil speed stuff up no end, one of the biggest delays at botb was signing in one at a time.
F**k knows how the food wagon will cope with 90+ players.
I'm sure PU have had more players before but they are used to it. I think it may be advisable given our player base to encourage the teams to bring stoves and brew kits and their own food as well...
Other wise we could have a very long lunch....
Before anyone think im over reacting we have a month to go, an ad coming up in ai and posters at phoenix and 6mil!
We currently have 73 players and we've got few more wanting to come. Last game was just over 55 i think.
Not trying to be negative or a worry wort just want to iceberg spot and think what we can do to speed up start up.
90 players taking a remarkably quick 1 minute each to sign in would delay us for an hour and half!

Tend to agree Gadge - I would be happy to cap it at 80 anyway. More players doesn't = more fun, and as you point out we are clear money-wise.
Phoenix have a double sign in on big game days so that's not a problem plus WE should have more free time due to setting up the previous day rather than rushing about like mad things ala BotB. Phoenix are used to coping with 100+ players (but we aren't!) but at least these aren't a rabble of kids and hirers to contend with!
Snap wagon should be OK - to be fair we need to hit a time accurately and it might be worth having a ragged end to the mornings game to stagger the queue like we did last time (but not at the end of the day which was a mistake!).

80 sounds good to me too , agree about biting off more than we can chew .
80 players, also agreed.

Sounds fine to me.
So no extra places then... fine.
BTW Dave... I'll want to be present through the signing in a bit like I was at F&O. I don't need to take the money or even ask the questions this time, but I do want to check everyone's name off the list.
Of course.

I just wanted to be sure that PU wouldn't have a problem with this...
Okay... we need to ensure then that the players that are booked in in the axis side and haven't actually paid their deposits are contacted then.
If you know someone on there contact them and hassle them.
Nooo, vital role. With a bit of luck you will be able to hand out the CiA/6mil loyalty cards too!

Just a bit concerned your post on the booking thread comes across as apologetic and contains too much information. We need to sound positive and professional!
All we need to say is this is the limit, get your deposit in or you are out and the cost is

Meh... I like to be transparent and not opaque... but okay... a little less info is fine.
I've changed the text apropriately.
I know what you mean - but hey, they are just punters who want to turn up at a game. Who gets paid what, and what we are thinking is neither here nor there! As long as we deliver the goods then all's well! ![]()

Put a note on two threads that we are ful fo raxis but require seven allied players on WWIIre-enacting.co.uk
May get one or two of the guys there interested, although there is a private battle on the same dayinvolving the 'summer of 44' airborne group.

I saw the posts. ![]()
A shame about the clash, we'll have to watch that for the next one!
Its a private battle. No way we could have known about it, its two groups (albeit large ones) doing a semi scripted battle on some private land.
Now dont get me wrong, i dont see anything worng with it but that *really* 'playing' soldiers.
I cant see why they wouldnt rather airsoft ![]()

Well next time we could ask some re-enactors that we know before we decide on the date!
