Is there a map or some decent photos of the site to give me an idea of what's where and what it all looks like?

Good map.
I ought to save that

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Holy crap! It's massive!

LOL exactly what I thought. Given the size of the bugger, should players be counted out, and counted back in again, lest one gets lost ![]()

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Don't joke. On the Fireball International I helped organise we played on a 200 acre site and one player fell asleep whilst guarding an objective (massive hangover). They were found after about an hour of shouting. They were asthmatic and everyone was worried they had collapsed somewhere!

Right the red numbered building are my suggested hartenstein replacements.
1. is a garage type hanger but unfortunely connected to the bigger complex
2. Is a connected set of four office rooms, technically suitable but not enough entry and access, pos tyoo small too.
3. Is a sortof locker room and shower block has a fornt door and back door and that it, would be some nasty close range firefights but its hardly 'hotel ' esque
4. cant quite recall what 4 is like but im sure CW will know, i *think* its the back of the barricades room
If we went for 3 or 4 i would suggest moving axis regen to point 5

Not sure what points you are refering to - should there be a link Gadge?

yes sorry

Right, your area 3 is the barricade room, just above it marked in yellow is the locker/shower rooms.
There is no area 4 - it is leveled.
Agree with your other summations:
1. Interconnected to the warehouses, not very hotel-like.
2. (Old safezone) We have used this before as a game objective - only two ways in (door and open window) but conversely can be hard to attack esp if covered by external MGP's so it would have legs from a game POV - OK, it's not a hotel but it could be imagined as part of a hotel!
Alternative suggestion - Next to the safezone building there is the technical lab which consists of many rooms. There would be a nice long treck from the Brit LZ to this area so again it would have some longevity.

Reckon we should go with the hotel being bombed out . 2 looks good to me from memory but happy to go with the flow , Don't like 1 .
With the embassy out of bounds getting from the LZ to the old safezone (2) could be quite hard.
Really the Hotel/HQ should be on the way to the bridge (almost).. Certainly not harder to get to than the bridge.
Also please consider two other locations, the medic block (the yellow building just above the words (Allied bridge approach route) and the rather atmospheric building that is under the word "Approach" of the words "Allied Forces Hotel Approach Route". If either of these are chosen then the escape route for the allies in the last part of the afternoon wants to be towards the river area (at the bottom of the map) rather than to the LZ. Which in fact may make more sense anyway!
Bothe these buildings have several entry/exit points and are seperate from other buildings around them. Okay one is partially joined, but doesn't have access through the join.
Medic block is being used by Dutch I thought. The building at the back next to the rail line is very close to the landing zone.
Both locations mean the entire days gaming is on 1/3 of the site, with 70 people we will all be on top of each other and will not make best use of the site.Gadges's idea was to slpit the attack in the morning wasn't it? not all fight in the same area.

The Dutch don't have to be there!
The point is, if this is going to be the allied HQ then it does need to be fairly in the middle of the site and nowhere near the axis regen point.

Disagree , the Hotel should be further away . If we have the fight all in the little field beyond the LZ we will ignore most of the site which is daft. We have agreed ot pull back to let the Allies get to the ramp, and have a big battle around there, if we set the hotel in the med block there is no reason tactically for the allies ot prgressbeyond there. Setting the hotel further back pushed them to engage deeper into the site, making for more movement and a better day . We want to end up with 2 games both makingmost use of the site, not just 6 hours playing in one half .
Need to stop worrying about accuracy and start worrying about game flow and quality IMHO .
I worry about both...
The hotel was between the LZ and the bridge... fact.
The troops that got to the bridge bypassed it... by a parallel road.
There can be other reasons for the allies to push into the rest of the site.
Ok... I'm going to continue to think out of the box here...
What about moving the bridge ramp?
We could have the road from the safezone as the ramp... This would mean we do actually have some buildings on either side of it, unlike with area we have currently marked out for the bridge, which to be honest is a bit piss poor because of the large warehouse next to it with the open door.
Move the German regen to the old bridge location for the monring. Make the Medi block the hotel.
This means the morning will be more of a fight around the factories, the afternoon will be a fight around the more open medi block area.
Maybe , but people get attached to places. Just coz you've occupied it doesn't mean we're going to attack it ! ![]()
Plus you need to make sure the DRWs have a reason to roam the site looking for artwork and intel as well .
Please keep an eye on both aspects by all means but people will not forgive us a shite days airsofting no matter how accurate it was .
