It appears that oddball has contacted these guys...
Hi Yith have you ever thought about contacting the gadget show about one of your events thegadgetshow@five.tv
Jason Bradbury looks like the type of person that would enjoy one of your events I know he has been playing ww2 on line computer games for a few years so would thing this right up his street. Also with all the bad press guns / airsoft gets it could be a good move.

Hi
I am a regular watcher of your series and wondered if one of your presenters would be interested in attending an event we are holding on April 22nd.I would think Jason Bradbury would be quite keen on it!
.For more info look at this site http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/index.phpFor booking information contact mailto:yith@yith.co.uk
Or look at this forum thread http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2 ... .php?t=276
Thanks
Nigel.
I'd forgotton there was Channel Five!
A film crew turning up fills me with alarm - while we wanted video coverage a pro crew will take over!
Doubt anything will come of it, sort it if it does
BTW - I think Oddball has drafted the email for YOU to send Yith!

not sure...
I am concerned as well... and have emailed him back with those concerns...
film crew = pain in the butt!
Oddball = pain in the butt if he's contacted them first .
More to discuss on sunday , personally think it would take a lot more coordination , although cracking publicity
okay... you were right Dave... he was running it past me before posting.
I've persuaded him not to send it.
Panic over!
I dont know i think it coudl be a good thing.
My only worry woul be if they focus on ss unifomrs and make us out to be right wing nuttersrs ![]()
Cant hurt if the presenter is pro wwii though.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
The main problems are:
#1 professional film crews cause hassle... they WILL get in the way. The presenter will probably want to interview us meaning we will have less time to sort the game out. BoB was frantic. We don't have time for this.
#2 I'd rather leave this until the VCRA exemption is fully sorted out. Lets not cause the ABA any problems at all... I know we shouldn't... but this is the media we're talking about.
When those two points are all sorted then perhaps we could consider it.
The biggest issue is what they decide is "the story" before they arrive. We will have little or no control, and they may try to portray us as anything from right wing nutters/homicidal maniacs to midly eccentric nobbers or laugh at the freaks . What they won't look to do is have a genuine, sympathetic and informed programe about WWII airsofting, far too boring .
I'd prefer not to do it on our second event as well .
Yith's right. It would be good publicity for sure, esp if presenter is pro WW2 stuff. But just a news crew would be hassle enough let alone a program piece with a producer involved who would then film the piece to fit their pre-conceived story, not catch the events on the fly.
In any case it wouldn't be covered - the guy may be pro WW2 stuff but the connection with a gadget show is tenuous. The only 'gagety' stuff are the AEGs!
Now then, if we can get Jeremy Clarkson.....

The Gadget Show is shite, I also know the company that produces it.....avoid.
I work in the industry and I wouldn't want a TV crew within ten miles of the site.
This gets a big NO vote from me.
