I'll be posting up full briefings in due course, so don't feel neglected. Once the next CiA battle is done and dusted I'll turn attention to this one!

Here we go then, lets have a look at how we will play out this battle.
So, an appraisal of the enemy's strength.
First thing of note is that we are greatly outnumbered - 2:3. Is this a problem? It might be but this depends on many factors, not least if the scenario is weighted or not. I'm sure Taffy is on top of this and that either we will have a greater advantage in some way, or conversely that the Allies have an arm tied behind their backs, so to speak.
Secondly, the quality of the opposition. Well, they are largely Americans so that is a big benefit to us.
Without the tongue in my cheek then: they broadly split into five groups - Brits, Doughboys, Dog Co, XVIII Corps, & others. I'll assume that they will be sticking to groups where they can - this is good for us as identification will be easy, the downside is that they might have a bit of cohesion.
Thirdly, command. This will be the interesting one. They are commanded not only by someone relatively new to airsoft battles but is also young, a tad cocky but more importantly a complete virgin in command and control of 30+ men. Set against this the fact the he wrote the game, knows how the game will play and what will happen and when!
Our strengths.
Firstly we are the master race.
Well anyway we have a good bunch of experienced players, a good deal of whom I know personally and so have a good grasp of strengths which can can use to advantage.
Secondly, with a bit of luck we will have motorised support. This means we will be able to cover a lot of ground quickly, whether in recce or troop movement.
Thirdly, command. Well, lets just say we have an experienced commander who isn't fazed by adversity nor is easily flustered and can take in the big picture as well as the detail. I have in mind three squad leaders to whom I can delegate and be reasonably assured of results!
Now tactics.
Number one. Discipline. Do as you are instructed, don't deviate from the plan, don't miss time checks, don't freelance. There is nothing worse than watching the game slip from our hands because players are more interested in shooting at others players rather than fulfilling an objective.
Number two. Be flexible. I'm 100% sure the Americans will be obsessing about squads, ranks, machine gun groups and bases of fire. We won't. Squads will be formed to cope with the task in hand.
Number three. Be fast. No bimbling, chatting, having ad hoc rests while your comrades are struggling to survive. When you are told to move you move rapidly, with force and purpose.
Number four. Aggression. Look like we know what we are doing, look like we mean business. Even the friendliest pussy cat can double it's size and turn into a fearsome wailing ball of claws when needs be.
Number five. Be safe, be reckless. Learn to do the right thing at the right time. If we are defending we need to stay low, keep out of harms way, let the enemy move in front of our guns. If we are attacking we can't do it from the safety of a tree a hundred yards away. We need to be forceful, be shot at and shot at again. Don't hang back, get stuck in!

That will depend on the generosity of our trusty recce unit - who have a modest collection of motorcycle combinations, Kubelwagons, Stower and SDK fz 222. I don't think that will be enough though, perhaps Mr Barratt may have added a Tiger or two to the collection by the end of May?

LOL, I see Mr Barrett lurking....

we'll be bringing 3 Treckers 2 combos 1 stower 1 222,so looks like you'll have the stower for the weekend CW if thats ok with you.the commander needs a command car ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
I'm really looking forward to this game, I've never experierced motorised support in game so that's great. I'm hoping to have the 42 up and running by then but it's a custom project so take airsoft unreliability and multiply by ten! If not the Stg will be running sub 350 by then (I'm hoping that's ok with site rules? ) I might have a tightbore fitted by then for better grouping.
Happy to take orders I've played a game where I controlled a path and didnt fire a shot for 5 hours, totally denied the enemy coming in through the back door, loved it ![]()
Cant promise to sleep under a Zelt though

Rope is easy - get yourself some brown jute sash cord from B&Q (its where all the other string, rope and chain is) which is a close match for original ropes.
You need three bits 28cm long tied to the bottom three big grommets for attaching to the pegs and two lengths of rope 2 metres long to hold open an awning.
In lieu of poles use broom handles or similar - you don't have to use sectional tent poles if you are not carting it on your back for miles!
I'll confirm those dimensions in the next couple of days...

Hi,
I'll do the Zelt and have poles but only one zelt so I need to buddy up to make a tent or buy another. Can you actually fit two people in a two zelt shelter? I thought they only fitted one the idea being you hot bunk?

Two zelts will only make a windbreak, not a tent.
A four sheet zelt should sleep four in theory since each man carries one sheet, perhaps three might be more logical with one on guard.
It will definitely sleep two modern size numpties but have little room for the shite we tend to bring with us, but sleeps one airsofter very comfortably with plenty of room to stash kit.
Useful zelt web site: http://www.zeltbahn.net/tent.htm
I'll do some pics at the weekend showing rope detail...

Thanks for the links for the zelt, where's the best place to buy more at a reasonable cost? At £40 each, it soon mounts up!
And on to blankets....
Does anyone know where to get grey blankets from cheap as I can get them for £9 each plus postage. If that is a good deal and anyone else needs them, let me know as the postage will be cheaper the more I get?

Springfields blankets are £8 each, delivery free for orders over £20: http://www.springfields.co.uk/military- ... ng/?id=230
That's where I get mine from (I use four) - they were marked 1958 and smell a tad of mothballs, as you would expect!
Epic's zelts are £38 each, don't forget to ask for your 5% CiA discount when setting up the account. http://www.epicmilitaria.com/search.php ... mit=Search
I have a spare splinter zelt if anyone wants to add to their tent.

CW do you want to sell your spare Splinter zelt?

No, but it's for loan if anyone wants it.

OK thanks for letting me know. I will have two zelts and poles by the time we get to site so if anyone wants to join me we might make a tent?
