the tracked chassis hasnt been on hire for 9 months, and today sods law struck
some retard hired it today then phoned up at 1645 hrs and said "it just fell over on to its side"
this thing holds holds a ton of mud/stone or shite and cannot fall over UNLESS its driven with its loader elevated at full height, something it wont do in panzer mode (it has to be all folded up for the panzer shell to fit on)
i asked the aforementioned asswipe if he drove it with the load in the air, "no mate it just went over",
my arse, these pricks are supposed to hold plant licences but they are mostly thick as pigshit when it comes to common sense!
i wont know extent of damage till i get on site tommorrow morning, but ive told the other guy in the shop to get it operational for the 14th
just my luck, i spend 200 quid sorting out some basic tracks for a game, and at the final hurdle ,some knuckle dragging ape fucks it all up.
UPDATE .................................
i went on site this morning and recovered the tracks , its not good news
the main hydraulic rams are both bent, the scissor mech and chassis are also twisted and bent off line, not allowing the thing to close
as the machines jammed and gone over its smash the steering gear and frame, so its now 6 inches out to one side and 3 inches out forwards
in a word the things wrecked, even if spares were readily avaible (and they come from japan to order)
id be looking at a week or to to strip down and rebuild, the parts alone are also not less than 650 quid, so the boss is considering writeing the machine off!
the panzer over shell stands me at approxamately 240 quid in
materials , steel, bolts , paint and welding rods
also over 50 man hours of my time, im so disheartened that 1 week b4 the event some C**T wrecked the tracks, i dont even have enthusiasim any more to redo it.
i considered hireing one of a competitor, but all machines are slightly different, and the shell frame would need to be rebuilt completly (its welded at all joins, even bolts are welded over to stop them vibrating
loose) it would take a week or two as well.
so im out of pocket and out of time(im on holiday on saturday till saturday)
im sorry to let you guys down , but the panzer project is now scrapped, litteraly, when the steel price goes up in the new year ill weigh the shell in.
im just so pissed off at the moment.
oh well ill get my infantry gear sorted now

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that Anthony. I was looking forward to seeing it in action. I bet you're gutted. Don't feel like you've let us down though, you've done more than enough just by making it. Its not your fault some tit has wrecked it.
If your boss plans to write it off though could you not take it off his hands? Maybe get lost on the way to the scrapyard?

his plans are now to repair it and sell it
i asked him how much and hes thinking between a grand or 1500, and to be honnest , its just not worth it.
if i was going to spend a grand , id build a panzer from the ground up from scratch.
this was a cheap way of doing it, and some idiot ballsed it up the week before, sods law really 
the guy who hired it had left a 17 year old apprentice on site when i picked it up, so he avoided all my rage, and the young lad was clueless. no point shouting at him.
i told the lad his boss could forget his 300 quid deposit, and that we would be in touch about the rest for repairs.
i also told him how hed cost me 240 quid on my lost "JOB" 
and if i saw him at the shop he`d owe me that as well, needless to say the guy hast been in all day 
not that ill get any cash anyways
im putting all panzer building on hold for now, i may try again next summer, or maybe make a pak 36 or flak 30 that actually fire, 
ill call in the local air and gas shop, and see if i can get a full auto presure valve for 20mm pipe
im of to have a think, im off on hols tommorrow ( i can think all week 
), so ill see you all at the game next week

Well, I spoke to our kid today to get the model details of the afore mentioned 'write-off'. I've got a couple of mates in the same buisness as him, but sadly, none of the other northwest based (or as far afield as my mates can go) hire companies use the same model of vehicle.
Have been pullin me plonkers out all day to find one and hire it for the weekend but to no avail.
