Thought I'd get the ball rolling , what an epic clash , the Allied forces were relentless and although we made it hard for them throughout the day they managed to rally at the end for a superhuman push into Aachen .good honest play all day ,at one point I was shot during an exchange only to look up and see the American player had also taken a hit from me ,hard fair play is all I saw .
Thank you Rabbitspacker for planning the day , very good for your first event ! Just one bit of constructive advice , if the game get's stalled then maybe withdraw re gen to the defending side , I felt that it must have been a bit dispiriting for the allied forces during the morning taking the fort ,
Thank you for a fun day !

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......

if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
Big thanks to the organizers, great fun day, if only the mortars would fire from the tubes rather than blowing up their own side :-0
Thanks to the organisers and the site owner for a great day. I know how hard it is to put on a game wanting all to enjoy thenselves and sometimes things just don`t go as planned. All in all great time after so many years I still see the standard of kit improving and see New players admiration for kit and weapons which I hope they will all aspire to to continue our sport. 60 plus players hats off organisers, you are certainly doing something right with an event where I saw the sea before going to the site
Site great, hit taking from what I saw was good. Loved the Pyro smoke and mortar rounds the battle for Aachen at the end was full on.
Good to see friend old and new. Another good effort for all looking forward to seeing pictures and video
Best moment of the day. Being shot “Sani Sani†I was shouting, lying wounded on the field of battle when or valiant Volkssturm AKA Herr Fremsley ran forward, more of a saunter, Pistol in hand shot the dastardly American and 30 yards plus. The cry rang out " bloody good shot hit me in the head."
Volkssturm 1 Americans 0
Hear hear! Fantastic day, thoroughly enjoyed myself. I agree with Dadio about the stalled attack in the morning, but after lunch the fluidity of the gameplay was great, so fast moving. Loved the day and the site, thanks to Rabbitspacker, the marshalls and all the players.
Looking forward to seeing the photos

Echo all of the above comments. Had a great day, the battle for the fort in the morning was pretty fierce. I think the allies must have about 3/4 of it at one point. I thought the yanks attack over Bakers Bridge in the village was epic, dogged determination and excellent use of smoke which enabled them to get over and into cover.
Good to see a regular contingent of new players both german and british with an excellent level of kit and WW2 attitude. All in all a very enjoyable day.
The only comment I would make is that if your new to WW2 games, when you're hit, it's well worth shouting "arghh!" because you're much less likely to be shot again. At distance you're never quite sure if you've hit your enemy. Saves people being hit 2 or 3 times.
A fun event; thanks to Steve, Doc and the rest of the team at Combat South for taking the trouble to organise it.
Well done to the British, worked well together often in the face of some determined German resistance. A special mention to Ed for the help as British 2ic; ever reliable. Awards for distinguished service to go to Steve and Paul on the mortar, some great efforts, in particular in the final attack on Aachen. Dom and the other lad that cleared the mines on the bridge, well done. You were all brilliant as a unit though, got into the spirit of it.
Also, Wattsy did some great work as U.S C.O during the attack on the fort; always good to have a Yorkshireman covering your flank.
The fort attack was a hard slog. Best action for me was the attack through the woods on the German Heer and Volksturm; a masterful defence, held us close to an hour. A great effort, even if a certain bugger did try to knife me after he was lying wounded.
Cheers!

Cheers for having me along guys. Loved the fire fights and the honour in the field from what I observed was as excellent.
Loved the site and have made enquiries about running a Cold War there;)
I have truely had my love of all things WW2 reconfirmed
See you all at Road to Rome

Awesome day, really enjoyed myself
First time playing as CO and I enjoyed it
Highlight of the day was when Josh gave me a report of the battle for the fort.
Thanks to the other members of the Waffen SS, you guys were great. Thanks to the combat south guys and thanks to all who came

The battle of Aachen was fun, the subsequent battle of Aching has now begun. Soo worth it though.
I managed to forget my sleeping bag and Bivvi bag and had the coldest and most uncomfortable night ever. All of that was forgotten when Dadio and his trailer of guns arrived.
Evelyn (the owen gun) was even more spectacular in person than in the photos.
I didn't mind the long period of attacking the fort, we had a small diversion to recapture the farm. It would seem that the defenders were so fixated on looking out for Americans that I was able to just walk in. Finally after months of having it, I got a kill with the P08 bayonet. Quickly followed by 2 more. Apparently they didn't like it up 'em
A great day, thanks to the organisers and all the players
Just like to add my thanks to all the staff and organisers for a great event. Good scenario's and game plan, great sportsmanship and fab site, when's the next one!

I can only agree with everyone else, had a great day and it was over far too soon. Some great combat, some of the best I've had during an airsoft event for some time, excellent sportsmanship from all sides. As usual the Combat South site did not disappoint!
Big thanks to all involved, organisers, CS staff and players alike for making it such a great day.
Hope to see you all soon for the next one!
Most annoying. I'd discounted attending ages ago due to time & money which has been a recurring theme since moving house. By the time I realised we've definitely turned the corner on that score at last, all the Allied places were gone. C'est la vie.
Really pleased the event went well.

Fantastic game, huge thanks to all involved . Special mention to Evelyn the owen gun for cutting me down at ridiculous range and putting my Kar98 to shame!
Wake up there, Muttley, you're dreaming again!
You're not Robin Hood and you're not Gunga Din.
You're not a brave knight or a king who's been crowned;
You're just plain old Muttley, the snickering hound!

Huzzah!
Thanks for a great day, everyone It would seem that I should join the medical corps, given how many of my team I patched up during the day

Well thank you to the organizers & all the players allied & germans
I can't fault the day as it played the only let down was half the airborne giving up &going home only becouse thay were a bunch of re-enacters & not full on airsofters & hadn't got the full context of the game & how to play.
As for the attack on the fort this part I have played before & we did do well to complete the objective as most times the attacking teams run out of time & don't complete it.
So hats off to the allieds for doing it & hats off to the enemy for putting up a good fight & slowing us down.
I started off with a very big box of pyro for all of my squad to use this included smoke, thunderflashes, pea grenades & mortar rounds & at the end was left with just some odd bits & a headache from firing the bloody mortar rounds from bakers bridge but this didn't put any dampers on the end result.
Note to all every mortar round I fired worked so it wasn't the rounds at fault it must have been the mortars or the users.
The only bad thing was when I got home my wife wanted to know how the bloodyhow could I manage to eat 40 chocolate bars in one day.
She want believe I gave them to my teammates & then walked to the german lines to give the rest out so now im the worlds greediest lier.
My finnal thoughts of the day were great day, good fun, plenty of pyro & when's the next one Doc & Steve.
One more thing my apologies to my teammates as to not being a very good CO (by not taking control of things at any point from start to finnish)so won't be volunteering to soon again.
SORRY
