Hi All

Been looking around here and all over the net but can't find the answers (and some that I have found seem to contradict).

I am putting a 2nd Btn South Staffs airborne impression together and hope you guys migh be able to help.

Firstly on a BD tunic are officers pips to have a maroon background for airborne? a powder blue type background as suggested on some other websites or red for infantry? Or the commonor garden ones that have a khaki background?

Red infantry pips.

Also having bought shoulder titles - white letters saying South Stafford on red background-I now find 'unofficial ' ones in all the websites I have checked that have gold letters saying
S. Staffords on more of a deeper red/maroon background.

Either are fine. The unofficial ones are nicer though. :)

Also found differing picture evidence of what other shoulder / arm patches should be present. Some show airborne title patch along with pegasus badge.

S.Staffords
Pegasus (actually bellerophon)
AIRBORNE

Have bought a beret and cap badge- pretty straight forward but also bought an officers peaked cap and wondered if the cap badge for officers would be the same for beret and peaked cap and same as the enlisted man (know there's a differencethese days hence the question)

Beret badge for officers is the same as enlisted men. Bimetal with a holland cloth background.
On a peaked cap, which wouldn't be worn for airborne really, it should be a bronze capbadge also with a holland cloth backing.

Be grateful for any advice.

Cheers
Bigray

You may find the information in the 2nd posting on this link of use to you.

All depends when and where you wish to portray.
