I'm tempted to get a set of British WW2 BD for Airsoft and also 40s events, but at £150 a set for something that won't be used that many times a year, I'm a bit put off.
Had a look through the Kit guide on the WW2 Airsoft website, and it says that there's options on foreign post-war copies that are varying degrees of correct.
For example, I see on eBay that there are loads of Dutch BD jackets for £25ish.
What should I be looking for, and where should I be looking?
(Apologies in advance for how poorly asked this question actually is)
Are these, for example, as accurate a reproduction as they claim to be?
From what I remember, there should be a buckle on the waist strap, and I know we're only looking at photo's, but the whole jacket looks a bit long in the body, and the material does look a bit poor, having said that it's not expensive, so I suggest a look to see what all the other sellers have to offer.....but you've probably already done that!

The buckle is what threw me too, but frankly given the size of me, a set of BD too long in the body is pretty ideal!

tbh ANY WW2 loadout is going to cost you that much, if not a whole lot more by the time you've got a helmet and webbing, and isn't going to get used very much. I've got plies of stuff which has only been used once, or not at all... If I get to wear my British loadout once a year, I'm pleased.
Having said that, if you hunt around you can get things cheaper .Both my SOF BD sets were bought second hand, for considerably less than the list price. The Epic Militaria BD isn't bad, but seems to have crept up in price http://www.epicmilitaria.com/british-ww ... users.html. The Mean and Green jackets don't look too bad, and maybe you could pick up some 49 pattern trousers on eBay or something.

I have all the webbing and various appropriate headwear, it's literally just the BD I'm now in need of.
I regularly trawl eBay and everywhere else, all my FJ stuff cost my 56% of RRP (I was actually sad enough to work it out! )
As British isn't my main loadout, I ended up getting all pattern 49 BD off eBay as it was cheaper, and converted the trousers as per this post viewtopic.php?f=46&t=5535. But I had difficulties with the sizing, I bought according to the British sizing, but both are on the small side for me and a bit tight, so bear that in mind if you go for originals. For the price the Mean and Green jackets look a good buy to me.
