They only come in tan/khaki, white or three colour denison type camo.
No green i'm afraid.

There was a green denim smock, part of a 2-piece suit, which appeared in 1941; the design was retained for the later windproof versions.
Whilst the smock was denim, not windproof, should surely be ok for our 'look-likes' rules ??

Does anybody know if a plane green windproof smock was ever made/issued to British forces?
Also is there any evidence of the Tan smock's, being camend up?Looking to put together some kit for a little money as poss and I could nock up a smock no trouble.
If you are able to make a Denison style smock, I'd sugest doing so in a tan/light brown colour and hand painting it with a wide brush and thin dark brown and green paints/dyes like the originals.

For the time and effort you're going to spend making one, i think you'd be better off just wearing a £30 Belgian denison.. its going to look more accurate.
To be brutally honest i dont think you've really got the colours right or the style of the 'brushstroke' camo.
Maybe thin your paint down lots?
Have a look at this:
See how the colours merge into each other and are less 'solid' also quite broad brushstrokes.

I think it might look better if you thin your paint TBH
I think that might help the colours overlap better if you thin it all down, start with the light green very thin broad stokes and then add the browns once its dry. It looks like thats how they screen printed the originals
Either that if you're capable of making a good repro smock, just make it a tan one like the mountain cadres used.

I see you dressed windproof coat+wool pants...
Do SAS, para or others used "opposite unmatched" combination, so jumper+ windproof pants/wool jacket+windproof pants/civil upper clothes+windproof etc...
Thanx!

No not really.
Airborne forces wore battledress with the denison smock over it (very early paras had tan/green step in smocks liek early war german one). You see some rare photos of airborne lads fighting in battle dress without the denison but in general they wore BD and smocks as they'd need the warmth in the evenings and nights given that they didnt drop with blankets or sleeping bags.
So the airborne didnt as a rule wear windproof suits... a few lads in the SAS wore then (who are technically airborne) but its rare, by far the majority wore BD with denisons tbh. Its a nice variation but in general the windproof suit in camouflage was a late war line infantry thing (and even then not every division)
I think the reason you quite often see the windrpoof smock worn without the trousers is two fold... the over trousers do restrict your movement a bit and its much easier if its about to rain or its getting cold to just slip the smock over the top wheras sorting out the overtrousers in a hurry is a lot more hassle.
As for 'opposite unmatched' I have never ever seen a single period pic of it happening IIRC, i'm sure it must have but the lack of pictures makes me think if it did it wasnt a popular 'fashion'.
I've seen a lad who re-enacts lovat scouts & commando wear windproof trousers with a navy issue cream roll neck sweater as a 'mooching about out of the front line look' but cant ever think i've seen anyone do a 'field' look like that.

Sorry for the necro post....
I can't seem to find any retailer with the windproof suit in stock. WPG is out and do not plan on restocking. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Otherwise, i'm planning on obtaining some repro Swedish/Norwegian M90 camo and having a custom smock made....
Does this help you any?
Be careful when dealing with Replicaters. The customer service seems to be a Russian Roulette. I've ordered three time from him and have generally been pleased with what I got. Others have simply lost all their money and received nothing.
Thanks for the replies and the heads up!
Silvermans is a bit on the steep side, and i've contacted sanjay. He said he'd get back to me in 24 hours. That being said, there is a local store over here that sells repro Swedish M90 camo cloth. I was wondering if you guys think this is pretty close to the Windproof camo or should i just ditch the idea...

Yeah, he's great at initial dealings.
Just don't expect a reply, the item you ordered, or your money back once you've sent him your payment.
