But I am talking about the denims....
The replicators denim trousers are passable, just. Having got a real blouse, sanjay's fabric is totally different to the original denim, which is much thicker and a coarser weave. I was wearing replicators denim trousers at Husky, and they are pretty thing and weedy. The blouse is totally the wrong shape though, and condemned to the bottom of a box somewhere now.
I'd semi-recommend WPG for denims, as they've got the fabric much closer to the original, but their sizing is definitely for the american arse, so they'll need some tailoring/taking in.
the dennison smocks are ok, got mine second hand never worn, it had a funny smell , so washed it and it faded pretty bad, dont think i dare ever wash it again, but i took a gamble for 50 quid.have a look in the kit pics thread, page 50 i think.
From what i can gather on various forums the ONLY stuff Sanjay does well is the Jungle Greens-everything else is a total waste of money

This is sounding more and more like a re-enactors site every day ![]()
It's a tailor made jacket and trousers that have been Fed-Ex'd half way round the globe for the princely sum of of £60. Is it a perfect reproduction down to the weft of the cloth? Of course not - you get what you pay for.

Of course, you have a very valid point there! Equally though, i can get a tailor-made 3 piece suit fed-ex'd from hong Kong for a similar price, and that looks nothing like a ww2 british uniform either!
as far as the denims go, they're perfectly acceptable for PBI/ww2 airsoft, as is the rest of his gear, no complaints there at all!
However, the difference/thinness in material, combined with the incorrect details, do tend to make it a bit of a false economy in the long run.
Oh, for the record, i'm in no way a re-enactor, i'd get laughed off the field!

Actually I have a suit from Singapore that looked quite a lot like WW2 battledress after the first dry clean...
Sure, I'm not defending Sanjay. My point is that his denims looks good enough to my (untrained) eye. They fit. They are comfortable to play in and if I knack them up playing a game I won't be too upset. It all depends on what your buying criteria are.
Quite... I bought a pair of Sanjay KD for use at Huskey... They're perfectly usable.
I put a hole in one knee during the event... but I don't care overly as they cost just £24 shipped... If they'd been SoF/WPG ones at £40+ I'd have been a little more annoyed.
The question is though... Would WPG ones have gone through at the knee in the same situation? ![]()
slightly ot but valid,,, i took some of the kids old clothes to a charity shop today, they had a brown mans wool suit for 10 quid. the trousers would have easily passed for british BD's without the leg pocket. they were a size 36 so too big for me otherwise i would have had them.
Could have bought the set for a partisan clown impression

...next we'll be seeing people wanting to portray the ultra rare jump trained clown partisans!
Yes, they never needed a parachute, did they? - with the big clown trousers they just floated down on the air-drag, bloomer style! It also saved on silk; there was a war on, y'know!

the trouble they had was, you didnt know who the major was coz they all had umberellas

As I understand it they had their own fighting vehicles airdropped with them - very small cars that looked like Model T Fords, except when you tooted the horn all the doors and wheels fell off.
Apparently they also only took people with really big feet.
...which brings us neatly back to Sanjay. Blow your nose with a big spotted hanky and watch all the buttons fly off ![]()
i nealry spluttered my tea over the keyboard reading that.

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
I have battledress and feld blusen/hose that I've had for years, battled in, slept in and lived in for a week to 10 days at a time that is still going strong and brushed down will still pass muster. Yes, I've sewn on numerous buttons and fixed the odd seam.
These were not cheap but they have lasted because they were of a quality suited to purpose. If you can still wear your Replicators kit after more than 5 years I'll change my mind about it.
If you are to view it as cheap and disposable, fit for a couple of outings before it's binned or passed over for a new look, then fine. It's suited [
] to that purpose. As an inverstment to see you through an extended period in the hobby, forget it. Your personal and the hobbies standards will shift and you will want to get something more accurate and fit for the job.
I like to buy once and buy right.

I'm inclined to largely agree ...but....
Kit issued in the 40s was really designed to cover all eventualities and was working dress, battledress and often walking out dress.
In five years of war only a small proportion of service men were in front line combat and event then not constantly (the average army is 14 per cent infantry/teeth arms).
Where as i agree a £100 pair of BD trousers will probably last longer than a £30 pair the amount of stress an airsofting year puts on field kit is probably equivalent to years of war service given that you're *constantly* crawling diving and running through thorns and brambles there is IMO more potential to shag up the kit.
Its why i prefer repro kit (and cheap repros at that for airsofting) if i put the knee out on a pair of trousers on barbed wire i'd rather they cost me £20 not £120.
As a concrete example on our 2 commando shoot for AI yith put a hole in the leg of his £100+ high quality repro BD trousers on their second outing.
If i were to buy kit for living history rather than battling then i totally agree with you but I personally wouldnt be able to afford to replace my warhorse BD if it were to be shredded climbing over some fence on an airsoft skirmish.

heh... it was a little later than a second outing... but yes I was annoyed... luckily they were easily repaired with some spare serge and some copydex and now you can hardly see the tear.
okay... for those wanting a cheap set of replicaters BD I just spotted this:
