Didn't actually look for those items, Richard - but after scrabbling through all that webbing for about an hour, I would like to thank you once again for the marvellous job you did in sorting out my webbing set. :good:

Are there any good alternatives to Monty's Locker ? I'm finding the lack of pictures really annoying, since I can't see what I'm potentially buying.

Yes several. I dont like many of Montys lockers badges and have found better alternatives in many instances.
http://www.kellybadge.co.uk/ Many original bits at realistic prices. A bit of a slog through the website, it's not easy going.
http://www.6thjune1944.com/index2.html This is the alter ego of Andrew Butler. Mostly good stuff but the odd fantasy piece. I use them a good bit. Usually at Stoneleigh they have a shop in St.Mere-Eglise.
http://www.pegasusmilitaria.com/index.html Mostly airborne stuff but they do lots of little bits for other regiments too.
Keep an eye on E-bay, lots of good stuff slips through on there. Always a lottery if you need something in a rush.
Dont forget SoF, they sell some stuff that is not rubbish despite what people will tell you. Knowing what you want is as always the key.

Anyone used kellybadge before? Wondered how quick (or otherwise) they are?

I've used them for some police insignia before, they were quick and had no problems.

Grrr! Nothing from Kellybadge, 7 days on - not even invoiced me. Just when I needed something quickly. Now no hope of getting buttons and getting the coat to the repairers in time for Il Giogo. Verdict: crap.

No worries mate - I had already ordered when I asked the question. :) I've ordered some from ebay, so if I'm lucky they might be here in time. Just took the coat to a repairer, who also hopes to have it done in time.

Aviator2046/Memory1945 is now doing '40 Pattern BD in addition to their '37 Pattern. If nothing else, at least it looks better than Spearhead's!

See page 1.

Pegasus & SOF both do them, and you can buy liner components from solomon adler if you get hold of a shell.

Came across this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-P49-B ... 5635fde5bd

250 pairs of P49 trousers at about £20 posted each. Crying shame they are 31/32 waist though but prehaps these are usefull to the more slender amongst us.

I went ahead and bought two pairs -- from what I can tell these are different from the WWII style in that they lack the front dressing pocket and the cargo pocket seems shifted to the side of the leg.

Yes, but they also will have two pockets on the back, whereas WWII ones have only one.

If you canibalise one pair it's a fairly easy job to make the front dressing pocket.

To do the rear pocket, what's usually been done is just to sew up the superfluous one.

Will do. Hell, for $8.49 it's too good to pass up... even if I just use them as work pants when it gets cold here.

Where can you buy British webbing from? Try Epic Militaria who have bought over three tonnes of webbing from George Clooney's new film Monuments Men.

would any one happen to have a spare 37 pattern battledress to sell... i have trousers but cant really justify 70 odd quid for a BD of the mainstream websites, EBAY only seems to have later patterns going for a decent price i would go for one but i dont want to end up with a two tone uniform.

Any information would also be greatly appreciated
