If you don't like dealing with SOF go to the rangercamp uk dealer. Here's her email address: springwestlake@gmail.com

She's called Ellen and lives in London. I have dealt with her before and she replied to my emails reasonablty quickly.

See this thread for info: http://www.wwiireenacting.co.uk/forum/v ... 11&t=37527

You still may not get anything but its worth a try.

I'm sure SoF will have a few Rangercamp smocks for sale at Stoneleigh in a couple of weeks.

Actually Gadge, you missed one of the manufacturers of smock out... the new Pegasus Drive one. Almost certainly the best 1st pattern smock as its made in the same way as the originals, but with a price tag to match!

The Pegasus Drive smocks are only about the same cash as the K&C ones used to be from SoF? They have to be considered. Perhaps a bit too much cash for running around the woods in but perfect for standing on the rope chatting to punters.

Yup true, but we never bought K&C ones either! :)

To be honest for uniformity with PBI, the Rangercamp ones are the best choice. Even though the colour has changed a bit with the new versions.

WPG are not bad by any means but if you were going to spend £60 - £100 on a smock then I'd personally have a few nights in to save up the extra for the RC one...

Anyone notice that WPG's webstore has the same picture for their first and second pattern Denisons? I assume the one pctured is second pattern, since it looks nothing like any other first pattern repros available :?
'1st patt' http://onlinemilitaria.net/shopexd.asp?id=2318&bc=no
'2nd patt' http://onlinemilitaria.net/shopexd.asp?id=961&bc=no

/sorry for the necropost, but I didn't wish to be the author of the umpteenthousandth Denison thread for little more than noob questions...

Who knows... They've taken a picture that doesn't show any of the distinguishing features!

Just get a Rangercamp one... :)

I had hoped to avoid that, given the relative weakness of our dollar to the pound. Even at a good rate it's NZ$300ish to get a Rangercamp Dennny out here, but if its NZ$230 for WPG, and turns out to be inaccurate or whatever, I may just have a quiet weekend and pay up for the Rangercamp, it sure looks the business.

Ah, yes,I'd been looking at these, might flick the guy a message and see if he can do one in a 40"ish chest.

Remember that Denisons should be baggy... very baggy, so the length is more important.

Cool, I'm a 38ish chest, do you think I should go for bigger than 40?

I just think the measurements that should concern you are the lengths not the chest.

It should cover up your bum completely. But to go down to your knees would be too far. ;)

There is a fixed range of sizes. These are off the peg and not made to measure or tailored. So find the one that matches your height and arm length and get that one.

You're a small chest, so any will fit on you... They are meant to smother your shape to a certain degree.

Just remember that you want the 1/2 zip version.

Ah, right. I messaged him a few minutes ago, but when he replies I will ask about sleeve length. I figured they have to be at least groin length, since you wouldnt wanna be putting that under-crotch strap on with a bomber length jacket and trying to go into combat any time soon after; might have given a few unlucky paras cause for a visit to the MO after training jumps
As for the half zip, definitely, I specified that when I messaged. Cheers!

Got a reply from this bloke today, seems to think that he has one that will fit me ok, just waiting to hear back about postage. Shouldn't be too bad from HK to NZ, I've had clothing and airsoft gear from there to Auckland at good prices in the past, and delivery is usually less than a week. My MP40 took about 4-5 days including customs inspection. :)
