What do you guys do about wrist watches?
I've seen Epic have "reproduction ME109 Pilot watches" that have modern quartz movements, but old-looking faces. Is there an equivalent for the British army, or a suitable modern (i.e. cheap) alternative?
What a lot of us have done is buy the cheap (£5) Constant watches from argos and put a better strap on them.

With mine I've even polished the writing off the front so it looks more generic and doesn't say quartz on it. Though that does require the watch to be taken apart quite a bit and does risk it being damaged.
Alternatively RAMC181 on the Pozzi forum has made some repro Brit and US watches. I have an ATP from him, quartz movement. Interestingly it has the same case as that Argos watch. Though he charges quite a bit more than £5 for those... ![]()
For reenactment, i've got a 1943 Waltham WD issue pocket watch, but for airsoft i've got a cheapo ebay/argos (can't remember, but less than a fiver) job that had an 'old' looking dial and a leather strap with a face cover to protect it, but it was that cheap it doesn't matter if it gets hit.
Oh yes, I don't take my ATP out skirmishing... I use a £5 watch for that!
the afore mentioned argos £4.99 job with a £2.99 leather strap. ya cant go wrong.

Thanks for the info.
Interestingly, one of the listed manufacturers of ATPs is a company called "Cyma"...
Bought a nice ex military watch a few years ago and had no idea what it was until now-not WW2 but kind of looks period(if i can dig it out ill post pics) and wasnt that expensive on Ebay either. Make i think is something like HMT Jowan.
