The official start of the Punk movement was 1976, the year I was born!

It's funny what you remember over time . I was only 9 in 77 (sorry mate
) but I recall seeing punks around in Plymouth , and also going into Woolies and looking at the singles chart to see that the Number 1 spot was blank as a lot of the Pistols stuff was "banned".
Obviously not into it at the time , but grew a fondness for some of the punk stuff as I got a little older. Hopefully off to see The Damned next month
I've been drinking with Captain Senisble.
I was Djing for the damned at a gig in Bradford and i persuaded him to play the 'big break ' theme tune for me on stage that night as he wrote it...
Comedy moment that.
(it was also good to get all my Damned and Capt Sensible records signed by them)

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Having discussed this with wifelet (who I was at college with) I discover she saw The Damned who did a college gig as well as Mike and the Mechanics - I didn't see them but then I wouldn't have gone to any gigs!
However, she confirms that there wasn't punk played on the jukebox - it was ELO, Status Quo, Who, Stone, Santana, Yes, Elvis, Emerson L&P, ABBA, Showaddywaddy, Kate Bush and Blondie in '78.

And of course, Led Zep?

Yep the world was crying out for punk ![]()
Is it me or do you think Sawbones is "special" , he certainly seems out of step with the rest of the forum ...

Certainly odd - didn't you say you spoke to him?
EDIT - just remembered, you asked him to get in touch with you?

Vaguely remember that , but he never did. Bloke's from the IOM , nuff said .
Did anyone get an PM from that American retailer ?
Nope

Sawbones is an enigma isnt he

Guy's tried SueSue - I don't think they are ambitious, marketing-wise! I haven't seen the Singapore traders making direct contact on other forums - be interested to see if that isn't the case. Replicators had a thread for a while but I think he had a bit of flak!

It's a good idea. Suesue never responded ot my request , but BL would be a good one . What about Sabre ? They seem good for UK kit.

from the bloke I bought my tunics off.
You would think they would fall over themselves but judging from Sabre's web site and their stock organisation I fear they won't feel the need to reach out to the buying public!

Chris at Northern Militaria as well. Not only does he sell the best Jerry gear in the UK IMHO, he's also a damn sight cheaper than Underpants.
Decent guy to chat to as well. Very down to earth.
Worth contacting Militaria-net and Epic as well?
Miltaria-net are always on the lookout for ways to increase their customer base, Epic are still having a helluva job getting customers back. Before the new owners took them over, they were awful. THe new guys have their customer service down to a T.
