I would have thought the first rule of CiA would cover that off. ![]()
Probably a good idea. As I've said elsewhere, there's no accounting for idiots.

Heh, we are in no position to be dragged into a court case if AA are prosecuted and our name given as substantiating a claim of defence so it's probably best to make it crystal clear!

Because I can't bothered to dredge through all these threads. Where is the AFRA application form?
Blaggers Dave has PMd me saying he wants to join (so he can buy his gun I assume) so I need to send the form out to him.

Chommers
I know you've sent it me several times before, but I just can't find your address anywhere, despite searching.
I'm going to need to send you the chequebook as there are no countersigned cheques left. This is for the AFRA cheque to go to Dalby.
I'll put an stamped envelope in the pack to forward all the forms and cheque to him in.
If you could send me the chequebook back with some more cheques countersigned that would be most useful.

look in the membership list i've just sent you
It's got his "offical" DOB there as well .....wouldn't sort the list on that field though ....
I'll put it in our contacts section!
If you post it to my home address hopefully it will arrive tomorrow and I can hand it personally to Dalby on Sunday!

Not the black one I hope...

Nope, the Mac one....

Boom boom!

In first class post, recorded.

Cheque book will be posted back today to B1 3NJ address.
Outcome of 3½hr meeting.
There were the five 'board' members plus plus four members representing groups (incl me!) present - piss poor turnout so no voting as no quorum (stupidly set at a third of the members and there are 350 members IIRC)
Discussion included member voting and mechanisms thereof.
PI Insurance expansion to groups travelling abroad (in addition to personal injury & equip already covered).
Starting up of AFRA run pyro courses (as opposed to TLSFX - but with their approval - Paul Dalby works for Tony full time).
Expansion of forum with more regular member contact.
Expansion of Risk Assessment system to include airsoft specific risks as well as broadening scope.
Greater publicity for membership expansion in 2009.
New membership cards with memb. number as well as photo and AFRA contact numbers (if stopped by cops for example they ring one of the numbers and bone fido gets established, same with customs)
Very positive attitude to CiA from all present and I certainly felt I had an equal voice.
Dalby expressed his desire to organise a reenactor/airsoft crossover battle (which I had already had with him twice last year) but I did no more than give vague encouragement!
We can certainly make more use of AFRA in the future as a vehicle for publicity, should we feel the need. I did offer my personal help to AFRA if they wanted it.
Dalby knows bloody everything. He asked about the Dunkirk game we were having. WTF!! we have only just discussed it over the past couple of days - turns out he was delivering some TLSFX pyro to Fearful site on Friday and was asking about using the site for a reenacting weekend and Alex told him about our WW2 event.

Heh, a few more AFRA recruits on the way!
We need to get airsoft specific risks onto the AFRA RA system - could you all have a think about what might go on there. As it stands with reenactors projectiles are avoided as a risk, clearly airsofting is the opposite. I'm not RA savy so need some assistance here!
They go something like this:
ACTIVITY
Tripping/Falling
RISK
Members could trip over guy ropes, display items. Fall into holes or trenches on displays. Public also RISK RATED AS MEDIUM/HIGH
CONTROL MEASURES
Display to be laid out with sufficiant room to move and clearly defined walkways. Holes and trenches to be carefully situated away from walkways and thoroughfares. Clear briefing to be held before commencement of activities.
RESIDUAL RISK
If control measures adhered to: MEDIUM/LOW

Will download our Risk Assessment System from work tomorrow. Any activity is split into the individual risks. Each risk is rated by possible severity, then mitigation factors are added into it (which are rated as to their effectiveness).
Off the top of my head, the risks of Airsoft really are quite simple and fall into three categories.
1: Risk of injury from projectiles.
2: Risk from pyrotechnics.
3: Risk from environmental hazards (as in where whatever you're doing is happening, not as in fucking Carbon Footprints!)

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Okey-dokey. Don't forget the system is already in existence and takes the form I laid out above so our bits will be a bolt-on.
We discussed the thrown pyro bit a while ago prior to Autumn Mist. Damned if I can find it but I'll have a trawl through my emails, perhaps it's there!

On a separate note, I am going to post a reminder to CiA members to renew their membership. I can't see any reason why they can't do it direct with AFRA since there is an online mechanism for doing that. There is no point forcing members to pay us another fiver and have to do the paperwork ourselves and keep tabs on whose subscriptions are up to date. Five quid for initial set up is justifiable but no need otherwise.
Lardassmonkey has PMd me about rejoining so I'm going to point him towards the AFRA site.
I've also removed Guy's response on one of the forum threads here and will post a message in the member's section about renewal.

Aye, he can do most of it directly through the web site and will just have to send a cheque for £15 by post to Paul.

FFS, just checked the bank account and Dalby hasn't banked any of the AFRA cheques. Bit cack innit?
