We do need to find some sort of way for the Allies to hit the entrenched German positions some sort of mass killing weapon...

In Guy's thread I've suggested the mortar system we used at Bulge, though perhaps not a prolifically as I used them! :?

Thoughts?

Use pyro and be damned was my thought

Um seriously though the mortar idea might be a good one .
TBH with the size of the "beach" as is, I think 2 hours play will be over quite quick .

Use BFGs rather than normal pyro...

No mess... and INSTANT detonation.

Its prob the best idea bt itsnot cheap.

I can see players grumbling about forking out £50 each

I don't think the issue is with mess and detritus as everything will have to be cleared up anyway.

I think there are concerns about loud bangs and burning stuff within an SSSI.

Most sand dunes are protected environments because they have so much important wildlife on them.

Guy will confirm though, I'm sure.

I thought it was about scaring wildfowl wiht bangs

But im sure 100 airsfofters shouting 'sani' and 'take you fucking hits;' woul d be more distressing to some seagull.

Pfft. Common sense never prevails in these situations.

The fiat is no pyro on the beach, period.

In that case what is needed is a mortar system and marshalls just going up and saying "you're dead"

Well except that at BotB the marshalls threw pyro as well.

Even though it's my idea I think it's a bit crap.

Perhaps we can convince Josh to invest in some cheap plastic pineapple grenades.

Or what about water balloons?!?!   :P :P

I think this bloke is talking complete bollocks. I can think of MANY MoD training areas with SSSI's on them - and live firing ranges right next door.

Fuck, we have a SSSI at work. With a fucking airfield one side, and the Aldershot ranges just down the bloody road

Noise? this bloke is just a jobsworth trying to justify his existence.

Don't take my word for it, but I'm sure that's what Josh said in his post. SSSI's were the issue.
