Well, I would rather Guy was there, which rules out March. You may be unavailable 18th April, Easter is 11th April.

That leaves 25th/26th April.

good for me !

Just got off the phone to Andy.

Confirmed for 26th April '09. There are some minor changes to the site, so i'm going to pop down at the end of this month to have a look round.

Few points from the convo.

1: Happy to do the same as last time, i.e people can crash down there the night before
2: Can't use TLSFX *usual* pyro (peas growing down there from the content of the grenades!) - but more than happy to order in enough for our pyro happy punters
3: More power outlets around the site.
4: Usual game day cost £25 per person, so call it £30 or £35, depending on what props we want?

Call it £35 as that still represents good value and things aren't getting any cheaper, especially with the night before too. Might be fun to run some quickie late night games down there.

I'll try and get my hands on a projector again for films.

Let's try and get it at least announced, if not yet available for booking. I'm keen to get in there before others do.

Agree on £35.

I would be very worried about running a night game - night is that same as day down there, alcohol and airsoft don't mix and I can't be arsed to be responsible for players welfare the night before (which is for socialising and kipping!)

Any idea on the numbers we are going to cap at?

I've already told PBI/KGSS there will be a CiA game on that weekend, so there will be no conflict there, Gunman would be the main problem.

If we announce early then how will we fairly deal with 70 players who want to book for a 40 (say) player game?

For the night games I was thinking more about silly little things like single-shot one or two-man missions to retrieve an item with fixed targets to hit on their way. You could even have a couple of fixed defenders to scare the shit out of them (I did something similar at another game that was very successful). We could run these as people arrive and book in, before they start drinking. Say run it for an hour tops just to get them feeling a little spooked out by it all! The quickest time, with best target score wins a small prize. (They could be followed by a 'marshal' to measure progress)

I reckon 40 is about right for down there. You can't fit many more into the main safe areas for briefings etc. Maybe just stretch for 50.

Perhaps we could pre-announce to the membership in the private section (which is something we should do from now on anyway), then open booking soonish! Might be an idea to get people booked up before Christmas!

I'm not happy at all about running a game the night before - unnecessary really, we should be scaring the shit out of them on the day! People are arriving all the time, shit loads to do.

With regard to booking - agree on announcing on the CiA private bit first but I'm a tad concerned it will be deemed unfair opening bookings so early, not to say a little unseemly, taking cash for an event over 5 months away!

I reckon we can pop the numbers up a little bit from the last visit, say, 25 a side including organisers.

With regards to announcing the game, i'm not sure on letting members know first as it would be seen as being *very* cliquey from the viewpoint of non-members (which kinda screws the whole "inclusivity" thing), however, the counterpoint is that its another benefit of membership.

re: gaming the night before. Er, no thanks. I'd prefer to get the site prepped, then relax for a bit.

One last thing, I absolutely, positively do not want Monaf to get a place.

* Starts list of who can't come *

How about making this a members only game? That was the original idea! We like playing with 'our' members (oooh-err) and a tangible benefit of being part of the club.

We could, but that risks us not getting enough bookings, however, it would be an extra incentive for those who aren't yet members to become one.

I think we should be able to book out no problem, but as you say, it's an incentive for non-joiners.

Having just had a chat with TLSFX they are now producing ball grenades with Fuller's Earth inside for use in FIBUA.

These are what they supply UCAP with.

Yup, Andy mentioned them. Not too happy with them as well it would seem, he was saying that the fullers earth (which is basically clay) combined with the damp floors make it seriously slippy down there....
