Use this section to post any questions that you may have about the FJR. :)

With the knowledge that we have between us and the FJ reenactor we now have with us we should be able to answer them.

The double-zip grots were rare as hens teeth. Got to be careful, there's a lot of them on the market:

Chinese double-zip grots. Sizing is all wrong. Stitching is second rate.
Richard Underwood double-zip grots. You order them, they turn up 18 months later.
eBay double-zip grots. Someone wore them once, thought that the skid marks wouldnt show, and decided to flog them on. :?

i'll get me coat....

I've seen a few pics with FJ wearing helmets that look as if they have a form of thick giant mesh netting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzJyYn9tgFw

I looks too floppy to be chicken wire. What do I need in order to copy it for my FJ lid?

I've got one of those nets from Underwood. They were originally designed for the M35/40/42, so they are on the large side.

I was trying to post on this thread last night, until my wireless threw a wobbly.

The nets are available from WPG ($40!!) and were designed for the coal scuttle, as Kermit says. They included a face screen, and are very baggy. I'm after one for my FD impression, so I'll check underpants later. Thanks Kermit! 8)

Adler actually hand made Drew's, so you could PM Adler69.

Next question...

I have 2 Obergefreiter chevron patches - one has a feldgrau green backing and the other is bottle green. Were Fliegerbluse rank patches always blue grey or is it a similar to Heer collar litzen (basically you sewed on whatever you could get your hands on).
