The ones at the bottom?
Put it on. Reach between your legs and pull one end of the split forward. Fold corresponding front over it and fasten the poppers. The ones on the side are there to tighten around the legs if needed.
Can dig my smock out and take a pic tomorrow if necessary.
I've heard the new Spearhead smocks are shorter than the older ones though, so you may not be able to button it up at all.
cheers that makes sense

Personally I would go for the fliegerbluse, looks great at the socials too Tropicals look good but are secondary in my opinion. Having said that not got either myself yet
I've just got myself a fliegerbluse, they really are smart and even the Mrs is impressed by how well I scrub up in it! Also it really screams Fallschirmjager, for me more so than the tropical trousers do.
Yes the Fliegerbluse is very smart (the combination of yellow waffenfarbe, blue grey cloth and the nice cut in at the waist ). Remember your black tie for walking out dress.
Cheers

Fliegerbluse all the way.
Best part of the kit in my oppinion. Great for sitting around the camp fire for most of the year and very handy as a (realsitic) warm layer under the smock when it is cold; the smocks don't really keep in any heat
Might be obvious, but Tropics are great in the summer. My shirt and trousers were a godsend at Greenback on what seemed the hottest weekend of the year
RETIRED, thanks for some truly memorable times and great people
+1 on the Fliegerbluse

should gaters be worn by FJ with jump boots or do you just tuck trousers into boots.

As far as I know just use some Trousers twists and have them ontop of your high leg boots. I think late war they did use gamaschen (Gaitors)
FJ trousers have ties so you just tie them and tie the tops of your boots over them.
not got proper FJ trousers yet just using my field grey's , would modern trouser twists be ok as they wont be seen? or would they not be strong enough for wool trousers?, i don't know much about twists except what they do (i think).
