I've decided my next impression (haven't even finished the other two yet!) is going to be LWFD - not HG, one of the normal ones.

Just wondered if there's any space for me in the FJ group? I'll be getting an FJ kit at some point, but while that gets up to speed I'll need someplace to go...

FD is a good place to start, kit wise, doing a german uniform. So many possibilities for variation in kit it really is very hard to get wrong.
Heer and lufty kit worn with no real lines drawn as to who got what. No worries about jump boots, no worries about M38 liners and chin straps. Field grey and blue worn, again with no real distinctions as to who got or wore what.
The camo jacket and regular steel helmet were pretty standard, in Normandy the helmets were often camo.
Not as 'posh' as SS, not as much of a problem for the PC brigade, but still with camo spliter and sumpfh tarn and room for exotic weapons.
They were found on all fronts I think certainly the west and eastern, not sure of Italy.

19 and 20 LFD fought in Italy re-inforcing the HG division

11 LFD fought in Greece and assisted the Brandenburgers in the assault on leros.

Cheers guys. Looks like I'll be travelling down to Varsity in my FD tunic anyway, to avoid funny looks from commuters...

Quick question; was the fliegerbluse standard issue for ground forces, too? Trying to decide whether I need a tuchrock or a fliegerbluse...

where u getting a tuchrock from?

get hold of an FB - it was commonly used in most area's of the Luftwaffe - it's an operational item of clothing, rather than walking out or parade but was worn 'out' also.

it was extremely popular - so get one
