Possibly. His German infantry ones are poo. But with the right paint work,it may turn out fine. The issue with para lids is some if the sit very high on your head. Mine is fine but it too some breaking in. And I'm sure its the same type.

Sometimes you are better off. As we always say buy the right things first off, it saves money in the long run.

animal - I bought one of the indian 'deepeka' or however it's spelt, shells and one of Barry Lyndons liners - sits great. The indian shelss are great, but the liners are rubbish.

Unless you want to spend £££'s on one of the 'true' re-enactor versions it's a good, but mid-range expense.

A useful find. Great for mid/late war use.
Did you know that the DAK almost never had the 'coconut' canteen?
The bottles didnt arrive in Africa until it was the very end of the campaign.
To find one dated before 1943 is very unusual.
To find photos of them in use by DAK is also unusual.
They got used in Italy and other places.
The wool covered ones were actually popular in hot climates.
You could soak the wool in water and obtain cooler water by evaporation.

No32 scope:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0875539746

Listed as a "MK 3" with a 1940 date. :?: But, IIRC, the drum assemblies look like Mk1 or Mk2, and the date is very wrong for a Mk3.
