this is where you have to stop and think a min.

If i were you i would leave that well alone and just wear an m43 fieldcap which will cost you about £14 from sue sue or barry lindon on ebay.

Is it too late to cancel your greatcoat order? I think you're going to find it pretty unsuitable for airsofting most the year to be honest.

Um , it's a toy plastic helmet that you'd be too embarrased ot wear ! A cheapo M43 would be better until your resolve breaks and you buy a stalhelm .
Beware though not all Stalhelms on ebay are worth buying , they do vary a bit in quality . It's important ot get the right size or else you can end up looking silly.

On the great coat issue, AFAIK both Che and Fandanglos have one enroute, whilst it may not be as practical as a zelt in the field, on a night around camp, if you're not going to be changing ensembles it could be a warm "DRY" piece of kit, something everyone should at least think about. Even if its used just on the night, the fact you may have something to change into albeit a coat over say longjohns has to be better than getting hypothermia in November as you've only one set of kit and its all sodden.

Not saying he should buy the coat, but after erm other incidents of lack of prepare its not such a daft thing to buy. If you can't afford it of course don't, but its your perogative and its not warm on a night in November for camping out ;)

Wooooooooooow i wouldnt even let a kid wear that silver plastic jobby

If you still want a helmet then Spanish modello z can be had very cheaply-£20 upwards if lucky enough and at least that will be steel and the same shape as a German helmet-repaint it or buy a cheap cover, change the chinstrap and there you have it or better still the cheapo steel chinise M35,M40,M42s can be had for around the £30-£40 mark

Looks more Romanian post war than Swiss. TBH bets advice -buy a cap first , German helmets are easy ot get wrong, I bought a couple of cheap ebay repros before finding one I was happy with , and that's a costly do .
One of them has been passed around the CiA crew until it found the right sized head.
If your desperate ot spend the cash I'd suggest read this first .

http://german-helmets.com/

To get a decent repro helmet in a size that doesn't make you look daft you'd best budget £50 at least . The cheaper repros you see on Ebay are generally one size fits all which maybe ok if your head is small .
Even once you've bought it , you'll need ot repaint it to get it looking anything near authentic, or get a cover for it .

I'm not trying ot put you off, but a £15 cap for one games is an easier proposition. Try some helmets on from your fellow players at DDay and find out what works best for you .
