Does anyone use these as ww2 jackboots, if so any advice on sizing, suppliers etc.

I got mine from Epic, came with heel iron and plain leather sole, 18 months later I had them resoled with a full set of nails to be a bit more pukka.

Looks like the sort of thing I'm after. Just out of interest how tall are they? And where did you get them resoled?

Yes, you'll see a mixture of jackboots and low boots amongst us. Richard Underwood does some very nice ones too, but they're not cheap. (BTW I have some size 12s for sale.)

Resoling: I used an 'old fashioned' local cobbler and supplied the nails for him. I'm pretty sure the quick 'rubber soles and key cutting' type of places are not the shop to go to!
I got mine from RAU. Not entirely happy with them to be honest. Wrong hobnails, and the resoling is a tad shoddy.
Meh, might just replace them after christmas with some decent ones.
