1st generation British army BCH are ideal for the budget look. I've got a set of RAU 2nd pattern boots for re-enactment, but they aint getting used at an Airsoft event!. Yes, the sole of the BCH is wrong, and yes, wrong number of eyelets. BUT, they aren't made from pebbled leather, and you dont have to remove any toecaps. Plus, no speedlacing eyelets on them as well.

Colour wise, i've seen originals with colour everywhere between the natural brown, through to dyed black.

Source for BCH boots (NOT "Assault boots")

[i]As has been said by Kermit The Brit high leg boots seem to surfice (80's period) Not the current issue s-9.

Easy identified all black dms sole (direct molded) and its rubber so it more comfort. And the "uppers" are 4 piece. And There's No toe cap to mess with

As majik and kermit say, just add that the late war falshy boots were almost the same as the Hi leg combat boot.
